1970 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne Pickup
Eureka! You just struck gold! This Chevy brings SOLID GOLD to the table. Here is one of the best of the second generation Chevy C10 pickups to ever roll down a highway. To repeat – it is a truck that can be driven, – not a trailer queen. This beautifully reconstructed half ton pickup looks new, it drives like a brand new truck, and it is as richly appointed as the fantastic gold finish it carries. Not only does this C10 shine like jewelry, it runs like a gazelle and handles like a Formula 1 race car. This vehicle is not just another pretty face that only shows up to take home the trophies at car shows; this is the kind of ride you could drive every day if you want to. And, if you test drive it, you will definitely want to drive it a lot.
The Heartbeat of America powers this hauler – a brand new performance built, 430 HP Corvette LS3 engine provides the motive force, backed by a GM 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission and torque converter, built to handle over 500 HP, take care of the gear mixing. The body rides on a professionally prepared, custom built chassis featuring: power rack and pinion steering; tubular A arms; forged dropped spindles; Wilwood disk brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, 4 piston calipers and ceramic pads fore and aft; RideTech coil-over suspension; a 3:73:1 Ford 9 inch PosiTraction rear end with 31 spline axles and articulated 4 bar suspension; new bearings and bushings, and stainless steel brake lines with braided stainless connectors. A polished heavy duty aluminum radiator keeps the engine running cool, and a new stainless steel fuel tank is mounted between the frame rails aft. The 2-1/4 inch aluminized exhaust system emits a throaty growl through FlowMaster mufflers and the truck rides on polished 20 inch American Racing TorqThrust II alloy rims and new ZR rated radial tires.
Inside, the custom interior is fitted with soft, comfortable houndstooth inset vinyl bucket seats and the stock door panels feature the western tooling that came with the top of the line Cheyenne variant of the C10 trucks. The cabin climate control is provided by a Vintage Air and Heat system, and a hidden top shelf AM/FM/CD system puts out concert hall sounds. The dashboard features new instrumentation, and a peek at the odometer shows a scant 3100 accumulated miles since the truck emerged from its rebirth two years ago. Every detail of this ride is exquisite. The tilt steering column is a Ididit unit topped by a leather wrapped, 3 spoke sport steering wheel, and this roadworthy hauler is equipped with cruise control, too.
The nose of this 1970 pickup comes from a 1968 C10 – a preference of its builder for the smoother, more sculptured lines. The cargo bed shines with new, furniture quality, solid oak planks with stainless steel runners. The chrome and stainless bumpers and trim, badges, grill, glass, rubber, are peerless. And, of course, the impeccable two stage ChromaColor finish sparkles like it was applied this morning. Every aspect of this utterly flawless truck is remarkable.
These Chevrolet C10 Fleetside pickups are the hottest mid-century vintage trucks on the market today. Current market prices average $80,000 for high quality builds like this one, with purpose-built show trucks that never see asphalt topping $150,000. This is a ride for the discriminating buyer who wants top quality in not only appearance, but in overall functionality and drivability the kind of truck that can be driven across country and enjoyed. You can spend a whole lot more money to own one of these trucks, but you wont find one built any better than this one.
More photos, taken during the stages of its build, are available on request, and inspection of this C10 by serious buyers is encouraged and welcomed. This is a private sale by owner, so only cash or bank to bank wire transfer will be accepted in exchange for the truck and title.
