1968 Chevy Crew Cab K30 1 ton project that I purchased in 2018 in the southern desert. Scott Chevrolet originally bought bare cabs from Chevrolet and combined them together to make crew-cabs marketed towards oil & energy companies as a way to reduce their fuel costs with moving more people out to the job site using less vehicles. These were sold in 2wd and 4wd with different bed options. This truck is titled as a 1968 with the VIN indicating it had a 6 cylinder and is 2wd, however this is a 4x4 cab as it has the removable transmission hump. I believe they titled the truck as a 2wd 6 cylinder because that is how the bare cab was sold, not how it was originally constructed. The photos of it with the orange 71-72 front clip, red/white cab and yellow/orange long bed was how I purchased the vehicle. The truck was not on the original frame and was not properly mounted on the 1980s 1 ton frame. I have since taken the cab off, and have had the body work completely finished on the cab and doors. The roof was replaced, internal supports were replaced and reinforced, and the bodywork is done. I now have a 1968 front clip, including fenders, hood, front radiator core support and one (1) inner fender. I have all of the window glass including four (4) wing windows. The cab is currently mounted on a dolly, the doors are mounts on the vehicle and close appropriately. I have the following for the truck: Cab mounted on a dolly with wheels 1968 Front Clip with fenders, hood, radiator core support, one inner fender Short bed in pieces (bodywork not complete) Misc pieces for completion including bench seat (need reupholstering), steering column, heater control, window cranks, windows, window assembly, metal door panels I also have a 2006 Chevrolet Duramax LBZ with Allison 6 speed automatic transmission/transfer case that was wrecked. The LBZ/Allison have performance modifications and were intended to be the drivetrain. The truck has a drivetrain with some damage
