1968 Chevy Camaro RS/SS Tribute 350 V8, Auto w/Console Shift, A/C, Hide-away Headlights, 18/20? Wheels, ZR-rated Tires! 1968 Chevy Camaro RS/SS Tribute Originally released in 1966, the Camaro was Chevys answer to Fords wildly popular Mustang. Produced as an evolution of the Corvair and the Nova, the Camaro was instantly popular for its lean, muscular styling and variety of options, including Chevys big-block V-8 under the hood. To this day the Camaro is recognized as the Mustangs biggest rival (despite going out of production for a few years). For 1968, Chevrolet could leave well enough alone with its instant hit, the Camaro. It had proven a worthy answer to the Mustang, with sales numbers looking strong and wins racking up on the race track. The changes from 1967 to 1968 were subtle, but thoughtful. For example, the vent windows that framed the A-pillars were eliminated. In 1968, NHTSA mandated that all cars include side marker lights at the front and rear quarters. Aside from the regulatory visual changes, engine displacement emblems were moved to the front of the fenders. Side door mirrors changed from a circular design to a rectangular one. The taillights were also restyled, and non-RS models got a restyled grille. There are few classic cars that are as iconic as the Chevy Camaro. They garnish respect at every car show and they often make excellent platforms for building impressive street rods. This impressive 68 is a RS/SS Tribute and was built to look as good as she drives. The 20? wheels on the rear were probably a dead give away that looking cool was far more important that being original when this Camaro was being restored. The restoration looks to be 4-5 years old but we could only find a few minor blemishes to note. The interior is exceptionably clean and the vehicle drives very well. A complete list of features and options includes; 350 V8, Auto w/Horseshoe Shifter, A/C, Edelbrock Air Cleaners & Valve Covers, Black Vinyl Buckets, Center Consol
