Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to offer this awesome 1965 Shelby Cobra replica for sale. The one-piece, Vinyl-Ester Tri-Axial Laminate fiberglass shell is covered in a gorgeous Honda Still Night Pearl Blue, which, with its contrasting pearl white racing stripes, makes for some showstopping looks! Built by a retired engineer with contributions from Restoration Techniques, Car Sport Auto, and Nicks Auto Restoration, this is one of the nicest Cobra replicas weve had the pleasure of offering for sale. Starting with a GT-427 kit from Ultimate Classic Cars ("UCC") and continuing with painstaking attention to detail during the build, the result is top notch. Under the hood is a full roller Ford 351W, with aluminum AFR heads and a polished Holley 750 CFM 4BBL carb sitting atop its aluminum intake. Coated headers feed into its heat shield-equipped side exhaust. Backing the 450HP V8 is a 10.5-inch McLeod clutch-equipped 5-speed manual Tremec T-5 transmission. The T-5 is also blessed with a crisp shifter, so it really helps the driver feel connected to this steed. Out back, a Currie 9-inch Ford rear end gets the power to the road with reliable precision. This build features the Wilwood 12.2-inch brakes upgrade (vs. 11-inch vented discs standard), which gets you slotted/drilled rotors and 4-piston Wilwood calipers at each corner. The front rotors are multipiece units, which make replacing them easy (and more cost-effective). Custom aluminum wheels are shod with P275/40R17 Mickey Thompson Street Comp radials at each corner (nice for when you want to actually rotate your tires instead of having to buy a new pair when the fronts or rears wear to the indicators). The driver will appreciate the tilt steering wheel and the complete VDO gauge package, which provides accurate, easy to read systems monitoring. Both occupants will enjoy the premium synthetic leather-trimmed cockpit. There are seatbelts for safety, and the narrowed center console even has a cupholder for each occupant! Now that weve covered this Cobra, heres a bit more about the UCC GT-427...The GT-427 from UCC has many things going for it: their cars have a longer 94-inch wheelbase for better stability on the road, which also allows for a longer and wider passenger compartment for greater occupant comfort (plus, larger drivers can fit). They have wider doors than most kits, improving ease of entry and exit, and the footbox is wider for better pedal placement. The standard rear suspension is a 4-link setup with Panhard Bar, which virtually eliminates the wheel hop common to other solid rear axle configurations. The steering mechanism is a manual rack with a 2:1 ratio. The front suspension features independent double A-arms, and fully adjustable QA1 coilover shocks are at each corner. UCCs frames are laser cut 2-inch by 4-inch rectangular steel and TIG welded, and the roll bar is made of chromed 3" steel that is structurally mounted. UCC kits also do not require used or donor parts - everything is new and of the highest quality. This UCC GT-427 Cobra replica is titled as a 2021 ASVE ("ASsembled VEhicle") and was titled in April 2023. With only about 210 miles on it since it was completed, this beautiful sapphire is only just getting broken in, so make sure youre the one doing it, and not the person who beat you to it!
