Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this gorgeous red 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 for Sale. This bad boy has been built to give you the looks and performance of a Shelby GT350 in a package that you wont be afraid to drive. Under the hood is a 289 CID V8, which, according to the owner, was the one the car was fitted with before it left the manufacturing line, and was rebuilt about 600 miles ago. It is equipped with a mild performance cam, and a Holley Sniper Electronic Fuel Injection system. A new Holley fuel tank with electronic fuel pump and new fuel lines supply the go juice. A Hyperspark ignition system provides the spark, and Scott Drake long tube headers scavenge the exhaust into the stainless exhaust, which sounds great thanks to the Borla X1 mufflers out back. Backing the fiesty 289 is a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. its Hurst shifter makes gear changes feel quite sporty, and the 5th gear adds to the highway friendly aspect - youll want to make many a long cruise in this Pony. The 9-inch rear end is equipped with 3.50:1 gears, which provide a nice "off the line" feel, and keep the RPMs down at cruising speed. The potent 289 is kept cool by the Wizard Cooling stainless 2-core radiator and its electronic fan. This sleek Fastback drives much better than it would have in 1965, thanks its updated suspension, with all new control arms, coil springs, shocks, suspension bushings, and rear leaf springs. Its riding on BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, which wrap the classic Shelby Aluminum wheels. Front disc/rear drum brakes help bring it to a safe and drama free stop. Inside, occupants will enjoy the black vinyl Pony interior, seat belts, cold air conditioning, and the tunes that the vintage style Bluetooth head unit puts out. Drivers will appreciate the Borgeson power steering and the Dakota Digital electronic analog gauges. This is one of those classics youll want to snap up: 65 Fastbacks set up this way arent easy to find, so dont wait!
