Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this sweet 1959 Chevrolet El Camino restomod for sale. In the right lighting, it appears to be close to a "Robins Egg Blue" color, which is what the paint guys were trying to match. From our perspective, they did a very nice job. This color will ensure you wont have any trouble finding your El Camino in a sea of hundreds of rides at the car shows! The chrome is in great shape, too, so this is one Ute that is already done for you. And speaking of "done", the powertrain and suspension have a few hidden benefits for those who want to take this ride on any classic vehicle cruise. Under the hood is that highly desirable GM "Modular V8" platform powerplant, a stout 5.7L (347 CID) LS1 V8. The aluminum LS1 reduces the front-end weight considerably vs. an iron block Vortech, which means its Global West front suspension setup can more effectively improve the overall ride, steering, and handling of this custom sled. Tubular control arms, sway bars, and bushing from Global West have all replaced the original stamped steel setup, making this one pleasant vehicle to drive. Backing the LS1 is a 4L60 (4-speed) automatic transmission, for improved highway-friendly driving. Low profile Nitto performance radials wrap its American Racing TorqueThrust aluminum wheels and provide great grip on the pavement. Power front disc brakes, along with rear drums, bring this Ute to smooth, safe stops. Inside, the occupants will be pleased with the benefits of the audio system, with its AM/FM/Aux head unit, Alpine 3-way speakers, and 6-disc CD changer providing the tunes. Theyll also appreciate the cold-blowing A/C on those hot days. The synthetic leather split bench seating nicely matches up with the exterior paint scheme, and the black carpet is practically unused. Seat belts provide added passenger safety, as well; and the driver will appreciate the power steering, tilt steering wheel, and cruise control. Another nice touch is the upgrade from crank to power windows. This is one vintage 1st-gen El Camino thats ready to drive to, and win trophies at car shows, or just cruise to wherever you want to go with no excuses or worries. Contact our Houston Showroom today to make it yours!
