"STK 3804 1957 Ford Thunderbird
The Thunderbird was introduced in 1955 as a 'Personal Car of Distinction"". The original Gen 1 design was built for three years, benefiting from performance and cosmetic upgrades each year. The 1957 T'Bird was a sales success with over 21,000 units delivered. This carefully restored (2004) '57 Thunderbird is a stunning example of the first generation model. The current owner has pampered this car for the last 18 years. The T'bird is striking with a professional re-spray of the original Willow Green, a rare color, accented by classic front/rear facias, rear fender skirts, excellent chrome and Coker wide-white radials mounted on classic Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels. A removable 'porthole' hardtop w/hoist kit is paired with an outstanding manual soft top. The interior was beautifully restored with new vinyl upholstery and carpeting. The handsome redesigned '57 instrument cluster with round gauges and turned dash inserts accents the seating area. Features include A/C, telescopic 'deep-dish' wheel, power windows and aftermarket AM/FM sound system - it is a very cool space. The spotless engine compartment appears to be virtually original in appearance. Horsepower is furnished by a rebuilt Thunderbird 312ci Y-block (D code) rated at 245hp. (This is believed to be the original motor, but we do not have confirming documentation.) This motor is fitted with the Thunderbird 'Engine Dress-up Kit' that adds over-sized air cleaner assembly and chrome/cast accents. The original Holley 'teapot' carburetor has been replaced with a modern Holley 4-barrel that is mounted on the factory intake manifold. Electrics are well managed by a 12V alternator system. This Y-block is backed by a 3-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission and stock differential. The very clean chassis is equipped with power steering and power disc/drum brakes. A custom car cover and the factory radio are included with the car. This is a stunning classic '57 Thunderbird that truly belongs in your collection. ALL VEHICLES SOLD ""AS IS"".
