Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer this 1956 Mercury Medalist. The car is offered by our North Phoenix facility conveniently located right off I-17 and Pinnacle Peak Road. These Mercurys were Known as the Big M back when they were out. This car has been lovingly restored to in my opinion a very high level, one look around this car shows that. The motor a 312 inch V-8 has been rebuilt approximately 3000 miles ago and features two four barrel carburetors, the same goes for the T-85 Borg Warner 3 speed manual with overdrive Transmission. The smoke grey metallic PPG paint color is from the mid- eighties Ford Truck color options and shows extremely well. The interior has been restored to the same level in classy two-tone grey durable cloth material. To go into a little more detail this car has new tinted glass. Front disc brakes, a bigger sway bar to improve handling, a new clutch, traction bars, there is also numerous upgrades to the engine rebuild including high performance crank pushrods and lifters and camshaft and Mallory ignition. Also installed tastefully under dash are gauges for water temperature, oil pressure and tachometer.

Our Scottsdale showroom is Gateway Classic Cars’ 16th location and opened in September 2017. We are located in Phoenix, Arizona which is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States and our reputation as the ‘Valley of the Sun’ allows for a year-round car season and a perfect environment to preserve vintage automobiles. Scottsdale is known as the home of the famous Barrett Jackson auction that draws thousands of collectors and enthusiasts to the Phoenix area every year. Our large and growing inventory includes plenty of desirable ‘southwest cars’ that have not been exposed to road salt and inclement weather like in many other US locations. We encourage our local car clubs and enthusiasts to come check us out on the last Saturday of every month for our Cars and Coffee event and cruise around our awesome 42,000 square-foot, air conditioned showroom.
