1932 Ford Brookville Roadster Pickup
This outstanding Deuce roadster pickup is an outstanding vehicle, well constructed, uniquely configured, and very pleasing to the eye. The steel Brookville body and fenders on this show quality pickup are absolutely flawless, finished in a brilliant Lipstick Red that glistens as if the paint is still wet. Nicely accented with subtle beltline pinstriping, a judicious amount of chrome trim, a fully inner lined black removable Hartz cloth top, and a contrasting leather interior, this hot rod has a nostalgic appearance that earns it top honors when at a car show. The handy pickup bed, with the namesake Ford script in the tailgate, is perfect for taking trophies home. It is registered in Nevada as a 1932 Ford.
The chassis and undercarriage of this little hauler is no less presentable – powder coated in matching red, and fitted with sparkling chrome components. A Kugel independent front suspension with rack and pinion steering and a chrome plated Jaguar rear end with independent rear suspension means this car drives and rides like a new car. Safe stops are assured with four wheel disk brakes, and Alden coilover shocks allow for ride adjustment to suit the driver. It is equipped with an emergency brake, and engine cooling is provided by a big aluminum radiator and electric fan.
Under the hood, a throbbing Corvette LT1 engine with tuned port injection provides the go power. Like every square inch of this car, the engine is beautifully detailed and hospital room sanitary. A TH350 automatic transmission with a Lokar floor shifter handles the gear mixing and at more than 300 horsepower this lightweight roadster pickup is a joy to drive. Period correct Halibrand alloy rims running Goodyear rubber (P165/60/R15 front, P275/60/R15 rear) give this hotrod hauler the perfect stance. A retractable license plate can be flipped up to reveal all the bling under the pickup bed. Below the tailgate, a taillight assembly with sequential turn signals is nicely molded into the body.
The comfortable interior is finished in bone white leather. Keeping it simple, this stunning Deuce billet dashboard bezel houses a full complement of white faced VDO gauges, a leather wrapped Budnik banjo steering wheel, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD sound system. The removable black top fits tightly and electric door poppers open the doors. Unique to this vehicle is the exceptional detailing that sets it apart from most others of its type. The sparkling Dan Fink grille is surrounded by a seamless grille shell, the hood side panels are easily removable, and the rear hinged hood swings up out of the way on custom crafted hinge assembly. The engineering that went into this hotrod makes it as easy to maintain as it is fun to drive. The bodywork is like butter – not a rough edge anywhere.
Inspection of this car is welcomed. It looks like it was built a few days ago, not a few years ago. Actually, it has accumulated approximately 1500 miles in nearly twenty years, but there is no visual evidence it has been driven. Meticulously cared for like a member of the family, it has never been exposed to any adverse weather conditions, and there is not a single rock chip, dent or ding anywhere on this ride. Even the underside of the car is pristine. It is unlikely there is a finer specimen anywhere. At this time, there is one single imperfection – the speedometer ceased working in May and currently awaits shop time to get it repaired. This minor issue will be remedied by the time of sale, or an allowance will be given to the buyer.
