“2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 –

5.4L Supercharged V8 – 500 Horsepower – 6 Speed Manual Transmission – Only 6k Miles – Original Window Sticker – One Owner

You can’t miss this awesome American icon coming down the road. It has good looks, and a name with a special ring to it that rolls off the tongue. The name started a bit of a debate in our office; is it to be called a “”Shelby GT500″”, “”Shelby Mustang””, or a “”Mustang Shelby GT500″”? Or maybe something else? We will take a step back and leave that up to our fellow car enthusiasts. What we know is that this car which proudly wears the GT500 badging is awesome! Describing the car by mentioning the supercharged V8, manual transmission, front and rear spoilers, vented hood, and Vista Blue body color with white stripes, you may think that we are describing a late ’60’s muscle car. And we are completely okay with that. This high performance coupe pays homage to the GT500 of the late ’60’s. The GT500 badging came back for the 2007 model year, and like the muscle car of the late ’60’s, this car impressed with good looks, power, and performance.

Starting in the looks department, we can most definitely say that this is a great looking car. It looks like it’s moving while standing still, and this particular example is finished in a great color combination of Vista Blue Metallic with white stripes. You won’t be flying under the radar in this thing. It looks tough with an aggressive stance, front and rear spoilers, dual exhaust, Shelby badging, vented hood, and different grille treatment than the standard Mustang. With only 6k miles showing on the odometer, as you would expect the exterior shows extremely well.

A look at the inside of the car shows an interior that is pretty similar to the Mustang GT of the same model year. Just a few strategically placed badges on the seats and steering wheel, SVT badging on the Tachometer, and a bright body colored shift knob are the only obvious differences. Look closer and you’ll notice the Shelby plaque that is situated toward the center of the dash. It shows the VIN number and Carroll Shelby’s actual signature. The interior is extremely well kept and shows extremely well, as you might expect from a car that is 11 years old and only shows 6k miles.

There’s no replacement for displacement…and a supercharger… That statement doesn’t quite have that rhyme to it with the word ‘supercharger’ added, but who cares? The car’s 5.4L engine produces 500 horsepower and makes an awesome sound while doing so, just the way the big V8’s of the vintage GT500 cars did. This car is bone stock and has a number of great features such as, Brembo brakes, SVT suspension, stainless steel exhaust with x-pipe, and 18″” machined aluminum wheels wrapped in sticky GoodYear tires.

This Shelby is an amazing car that is built to be driven, and engineered to perform. A supercharged V8, manual transmission, vented hood, rear spoiler, dual exhaust, and stripes could describe a classic muscle car of the ’60’s, but it also describes this future-collectible GT500. Carroll Shelby himself said it best: “”These cars are meant to be driven, so enjoy the hell out of it – not just the look of it when it’s all clean.”” Make room for this awesome car so you can take Mr.Shelby’s advice and enjoy the hell out of this special GT500!
