2006 N2A Motors 789 S/R — Serial Number 001

This 2006 N2A Motors 789 S/R is one of the most unusual and genuinely collectible neoclassics you will ever have the chance to own — and this is the very first example ever built. The brushed aluminum plaque on the engine cover says it all: “789 S/R — N2A Motors — Number 001.” Built in California as a finished, running auto show promotional car, this roadster fused the fins-and-chrome glamour of 1957–1959 American styling with the proven engineering of the sixth-generation Corvette. The result is a long, low two-seat convertible with soaring tailfins, round headlamps, and torpedo taillights riding on one of the finest sports car platforms GM ever produced. For the discerning collector who values documented provenance, legitimate production context, and true scarcity, cars this rare and this special rarely come to market.

Engine & Transmission

  • LS2 6.0-liter all-aluminum V8 — the same Gen IV small-block that powered the 2005–2007 C6 Corvette
  • Factory-rated at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque for confident, drivable performance
  • Cathedral-port cylinder heads, composite intake manifold, and coil-near-plug ignition
  • 4L65-E 4-speed automatic transmission, ideally suited to relaxed open-road cruising
  • One of the most reliable and well-supported drivetrains in modern American performance

Exterior

  • Striking two-tone teal and white finish following a clean, era-correct character line
  • Carbon composite body panels enabling the fins, sculpted fenders, and compound curves
  • Twin rear tailfins with chrome-ringed oval taillights set into each fin
  • Round headlamps in chrome-trimmed housings flanked by secondary driving lights
  • Chrome bumper treatment, mesh grille, and chrome accents throughout
  • Borla stainless-steel exhaust exiting through four centered round tips in the rear valance
  • Budnik polished billet-aluminum wheels for a clean, purposeful stance
  • Black power soft top that folds flush with the beltline, preserving the low roofline

Interior

  • Custom three-tone leather bucket seats in teal, grey, and black
  • Body-matched teal accents carried through the door panels and across the dashboard band
  • Metal N2A Motors badge centered in the instrument panel
  • N2A Motors embroidered headrests and custom-fitted embroidered floor mats
  • N2A Motors leather steering wheel with branded shield center cap
  • C6 Corvette-derived instruments, switchgear, climate controls, and center console
  • Large, prominently positioned tachometer
  • Power windows, power seats, and air conditioning
  • Glass rear window for lasting clarity and durability

Suspension & Chassis

  • Genuine C6 Corvette platform with hydroformed steel frame
  • Front-mid-engine layout with rear-mounted transaxle for near-ideal 50/50 balance
  • Aluminum-intensive independent rear suspension — five-link design with transverse composite leaf spring
  • Unequal-length A-arm front suspension for sharp, composed handling
  • Four-wheel disc brakes for confident, modern stopping power
  • Clean undercarriage with no visible corrosion or structural damage

Additional Info

  • Serial Number 001 — the first 789 S/R ever built
  • Auto show promotional car used to represent the N2A Motors brand publicly
  • A finished, running, driving vehicle — not a pre-production prototype
  • VIN decodes to a 2006 model year, confirming early-production status
  • Built in very small numbers, each made to order on a C6 Corvette platform
  • Not a kit car, replica, or custom build — a named production series from a real manufacturer
  • The rare combination of documented provenance, legitimate lineage, and genuine scarcity

Shoulda gone with the ‘57 rear end. ‘59 was the ugliest of the ‘50’s.

But that’s just my opinion. I could be wrong.
