By 1970, the 442 was into its second generation and at its peak performance before smog regulations began to encroach on its output. Equipped with a 3.23:1 rear end, the 442 was capable of a 14.5 second quarter-mile time at 93 MPH. Never heard of a 442 with a bench seat and column shift. This must be pretty rare, huh?
That was actually quite common, along with an open rear end and non-performance gear ratios. Many of these were daily drivers that folks used to commute to work, school, etc.
