1969 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible R/T Tribute. This car is an amazing opportunity to own and drive a car that looks and performs like the highly collectible 440HP R/T Coronet, but at a much more reasonable purchase price. This car was treated to a cosmetic restoration in 2002 and has been lovingly cared for since.

This car is painted in the MOPAR factory color of Medium Blue Metallic and features the correct white rally stripe treatment at the rear of the car. We have no record of what color the car was originally. The 20-year-old finish presents well with a few expected chips and blemishes gathered over the last two decades, but shines with a great luster.

The correct R/T emblems, grille, and side scoops were installed during the refinishing, and the hood scoops are fully functional with the correct Ram-air cold air inlet to seal the hood to the air cleaner. The bumper chrome shows some very light signs of patina but shine brightly. The white convertible power top was recently replaced, and the fit is very good, thanks to a professional installation. The tonneau cover is in very nice condition as well with a nice tight fit.

New upholstery and carpet were installed in 2002 when the exterior was refinished. A close look at the interior surfaces show very light wear and the upholstery is free of any rips or tears. The combination of a black dashboard and black carpeting, really make the white seats and door panels pop. Options include dash light, faux-wood trim dash, and factory AM radio.

Gauges are standard Mopar issue and include a sweeping speedometer, and temperature and voltmeter. An auxiliary SunPro oil pressure gauge is mounted below the dash. A set of matching, “R/T” embroidered floor mats look cool while protecting the carpet. The rear trunk compartment is clean and features a new rubber mat.

Under the hood sits an era-correct 440 topped with a four-barrel carb sitting on an aluminum intake. The correct factory and fully functional cold air Ramcharger hood-mounted intake setup is in place. As we mentioned, the engine was upgraded to resemble the correct R/T 440 High-Performance V8.

The installation is neatly done, and looks like it came from the factory that way. A set of chrome valve covers with the Mopar Pentastar adorn the engine, and a number of the correct factory decals are in place. Power is transferred to a column-shifted 727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission which was rebuilt recently.

The underbody and chassis are unrestored but have been well maintained including a new fuel tank and dual exhaust. The dual exhaust features an H-pipe and chamber-style muffler that flow into tailpipes with the factory-style chrome tips. The floorboards and subframe are solid and free of any rust through.

The braking is handled by four-wheel power drums, and the vehicle also features power steering. Fuel and brake hardlines and rubber have been recently replaced, as well as front shocks and rear air adjustable height shocks have been recently installed. The combination rides on 14″ chrome steel Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in Firestone Firehawk radial tires with raised white letters.

Included in the sale is a Coronet R/T clock to decorate the garage where this R/T finds its next home, as well as an additional RH rearview mirror. This convertible is a very sharp car, sure to draw plenty of thumbs up as you cruise with the top down.
