1963 Studebaker Lark

Runs and Drives well

V8 Gas engine

3 speed on the column

Tires are good but not new. Interior is in nice condition. It is not restored and its not Flawless. Theres sun damage on the dash and minor cosmetic issues. Exterior is also in very good shape for the age, but its not immaculate, theres some scratches and minor cosmetic issues. Glass is in good condition, has approx. 85,000 miles showing. I got it from an older gal, and it was her mothers. She said that the miles are original and said the motor and tranny and everything are all original. Youre buying what you see, but it is overall a very nice car for the age! It is not 100% rust free. There are a couple spots you can tell maybe a little rust coming under the paint. I have a clean title in my name for it and youll get a 45-day permit with it. It is located in Miller, South Dakota. I have reasonable shipping options nationwide at buyers expense. I can store here in SD as long as needed as well, as long as it is paid for. Contact me with any questions!

Good evening. My very first car was a 1963 Studebaker Lark “Cruiser!” It was black with light blue interior. Had a 289 Studebaker V8 with an automatic trans. Loved that little car! My question is: does this car have the 289 cubic inch engine or the standard 259 cubic inch V8? It looks like it wouldn’t take much to get the ol’ girl back in tip top condition! I’m definitely going to watch this auction and may bid on it near the end providing the price doesn’t get too outrageous! Thanks for answering my question and best of luck with the sale! Have a great night! God Bless!!

Thank you for your interest! I’m not an expert by any means, but from the research I did, if the motor number starts with a “V” it is a 259. The number I found on the engine is V2579130. So I’m assuming it is a 259.

Here is a video of the engine running

Photos of the engine compartment have been added to the end of the gallery

  • Nice appearance!
Please add a pic showing the motor. V8 Larks show an wmblem on rhe grille, but yours shows none.

    • Dacotah4 says:

From what I’ve found, some of the V8s close to the transition between years did not have the V8 emblem.
