Sold For: $7,451 Questions

This is a freshly rebuilt 1958 283 cubic inch Corvette Fuel Injected engine. CS suffix stamped block, 1958 Corvette fuel injection, 290 horsepower. Pistons show it’s bored .40 over with fresh cross hatching on cylinder walls as seen in photos. The fuel injection intake and plenum have casting numbers for a 1957 to 1959 Corvette fuel injection system, the tag is incorrect.

Cylinder heads are 1958 283 heads with 1.72” and 1.5” valves according to casting number and casting date. Original Corvette finned valve covers. This engine was part of a collection and the owner has passed away. It appears to be a fresh rebuild with very little time on it. He had a 58 Vette with the original engine installed, this was a spare. I only have what is show in the photos. No distributor, no exhaust manifolds, no fuel pump, no air cleaner.

  • billyb says:

Good morning. Do you know the history of this engine? By that I mean do you know if it was originally in a fuel injected car from the factory? Or is it just a correct time period block with an
    injection unit on it?

    • Keith H. says:

      Hello,
According to the suffix stamping and casting dates on both the engine and the intakes, it was in a 1958 Fuelie Corvette.
