Fully Restored 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Club Coupe – Classic Elegance
This beautifully restored 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Club Coupe underwent a full restoration about five years ago and has seen less than 1,000 miles since. It’s powered by a rebuilt 323.5CI (5.3L) Spitfire inline 8-cylinder engine, paired with Chrysler’s signature Fluid Drive 4-speed semi-automatic transmission. The odometer reads 99,000 miles.
Originally a Texas car, it now wears a striking factory-correct Palomino Cream finish over a rich maroon broadcloth interior. The iconic Chrysler dash, complete with working clock, remains in excellent condition. Additional interior highlights include a dual heater system, manual steering, and drum brakes on all four corners.
Exterior features include:
-
Solid, well-aligned body panels
-
All chrome, trim, and badging intact and in excellent shape
-
Front and rear chrome bumperettes
-
Driver-side spotlight
-
Windshield visor
-
Clear, damage-free glass including the split windshield
-
Excellent cloth weatherstripping throughout
The clean, carpeted trunk houses the jack and full spare tire. The undercarriage is tidy and features leaf spring suspension and a single exhaust system with a special Chrysler chrome tip. It also has a new gas tank.
The car rides on factory steel wheels with Chrysler chrome hubcaps wrapped in wide whitewall tires. Note: the radio is currently inoperable, and there are minor paint imperfections along the driver-side fender where the hood meets. The hood also requires minor adjustment.
This New Yorker runs, drives, and shifts beautifully. Always garage-kept and stored in Massachusetts, it comes with a clean title and is ready to be enjoyed.
