Few cars capture the timeless elegance of post-war American design quite like the 1946 Ford Super Deluxe—and this example elevates that legacy with a carefully executed, ground-up restomod build. Acquired from an estate and restored just two years ago, this sedan blends classic styling with meaningful modern upgrades throughout.

Power comes from a strong 383 cubic inch stroker V8 equipped with Edelbrock fuel injection, delivering smooth, responsive performance. It’s paired with a late-model full-synchronized Chevrolet transmission, uniquely adapted to a column shift through a custom linkage—preserving the original driving feel while enhancing usability. With rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes, and a 9-inch rear end, this Ford is engineered to drive confidently in modern conditions.

One of the standout features of this build is its thoughtfully upgraded lighting system—an area where no detail was overlooked. The car is equipped with upgraded halogen-style headlights for improved nighttime visibility, along with LED taillights and a third brake light that enhance both safety and presence on the road. These subtle yet important enhancements make this classic far more enjoyable and practical to drive, especially in today’s traffic.

The exterior is finished in a rich metallic maroon, applied in stages and professionally reassembled for a high-quality presentation. Brightwork and trim, including numerous Drake reproduction pieces, are straight and show beautifully. Inside, the custom red, white, and black interior reflects a significant investment, with approximately $7,500 spent to create a striking and comfortable cabin. The attention to detail continues into the fully upholstered trunk, with the battery neatly relocated for a clean finish.

Additional features such as Vintage Air climate control, AutoMeter gauges, a new wiring harness, aluminum radiator, headers, and stainless side exhaust round out a build that was clearly done with care and intention.

With just 3,000 miles since completion, this 1946 Ford Super Deluxe is a true turn-key restomod—offering the charm of a classic with the drivability, safety, and comfort of a modern build. Ready to be shown, driven, and enjoyed.

Very nice..What is the rear end ratio? What does not work on the 46?

    Thank you

    • ACC Auctions says:

The seller said he believes the car is equipped with a Ford 9-inch rear end, although he is unsure of the exact gear ratio. Based on how the car drives, it appears to have more of a highway-style gear setup designed for comfortable cruising rather than aggressive off-the-line acceleration. He noted that while driving in city traffic, particularly in third gear at lower speeds, the car occasionally feels like it would prefer to be in second gear — another indication of a taller highway-oriented rear gear.

Overall, the setup makes the car well-suited for open-road driving and highway cruising, where the engine can run at lower RPMs and deliver a smoother driving experience.

The only known item currently needing attention is the cowl vent. He mentioned that a nut recently came loose, and he simply has not had time to address it yet. Aside from that minor issue, he states that everything else is functioning as it should.
