This Ford has an industrial toughness that cannot be denied. You see how the body was professionally chopped, and where it was channeled over the frame to give it that ultra-low-low look, and the added touch of the convertible roof that you can have open or closed. Everything on this rat rod is done with a bit of a hidden purpose. For example, the roof might look like it has the classic vinyl top that came on these 1930s machines, but unlike those factory cars, it also slides away in case you want to be open to the world. And the details are absolutely terrific, commercial-style headlights with low and high beams, old school taillights, and whitewalls on classic red wires. And it’s all wrapped in a flat burnt red that looks like it was stashed away in a barn for decades, but the added and tastefully done pinstriping shows the world that this is not an old build. This V8 inhales deeply with an Rochester Quadra jet four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority as those headers give a deep mellow sound out the exhaust. And this mean motor also has nice supporting components like an radiator with electric fan. Out on the road, the three-speed automatic transmission, adjustable coil overs in the rear, and drum brakes all around make driving this rat rod an easy experience.
