When Buick introduced the Riviera in 1963, it marked a bold entry into the personal luxury coupe market. By 1965, the Riviera had evolved into an even more refined and distinctive design, featuring dramatic updates like hidden clamshell headlights and a more sculpted rear. This beautifully preserved example showcases that peak-year styling with its elegant pearl white exterior and original black leather interior with bucket seats—an iconic combination that continues to command attention wherever it goes.
Under the hood is Buick’s renowned 425 cubic inch “Nailhead” V8 with a single 4 barrel carburetor, paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain delivers effortless performance, while factory options like cruise control, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and a tilt steering wheel make for a surprisingly modern driving experience. Power windows add to the upscale feel, and the original AM/FM radio remains intact. The car rides on Vision Legend Series wheels wrapped in good-condition tires, offering both stability and style.
The Riviera’s signature hidden headlights do illuminate, but the doors currently do not close due to a faulty actuator—a known issue that’s easily addressed by enthusiasts. With 76,000 original miles and a clean Kansas title, this is a rare opportunity to own a true early American luxury coupe that remains stylish, functional, and dignified over 60 years later.

Truly a beautiful car! Do you have any undercarriage pictures? Missing pictures of the inside of both doors , especially the bottom. Am I to understand that you have the replacement wood grain for all of the center console and storage compartment? Leather seats? I believe they are vinyl. How long have you owned the car and may I ask why you’re selling it?
from the seller:
Correct, the interior is vinyl
Yes, I have the replacement wood grain
I have had the car for 3 years
I am more into 50s Cadillacs. I am Selling the riviera to make space in my garage. The riviera is in great condition! Nothing needed on this riviera other then the clamshell actuator, which is pretty easy to change. I just haven’t gotten around to doing it.
