While every Corvette generation has its fans, many enthusiasts still consider the C2 Sting Rays (1963–1967) the high point of Corvette design and performance. When Bill Mitchell and Larry Shinoda’s radical Sting Ray hit the streets in late 1962, it looked like it came from another planet—and it still turns heads today.
This stunning 1964 Corvette Coupe is a standout example of one of America’s most iconic postwar designs. Under the reverse-tilt hood lies a 1968 L79 327/350, upgraded with a Holley carburetor, aluminum “double hump” heads, a hydraulic roller cam mirroring the 327/365 specs, and an aluminum radiator for improved cooling. It’s paired with a 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive, offering both performance and highway comfort.
Additional highlights include power steering, power front disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, power windows, factory air conditioning, and an AM/FM/Bluetooth audio system. Finished in its correct Tuxedo Black (900A) with a red leather interior (upgraded from factory vinyl), it rides on fresh redline tires (205/75R15) mounted to bolt-on knock-off alloy wheels.
The current owner acquired the car from the family of its original owner, who brought it from California to Texas.
Recent updates (2022–2024) include a new fuel tank, carpet, door panels, emblems, exhaust system, dash insert, window seals, shocks, and audio system.
This Corvette retains its timeless appeal while offering modern reliability and comfort for effortless cruising at today’s highway speeds.
