Chevrolet marked the 25th anniversary of the Corvette in 1978 with a bold design update that included a new fastback-style rear window, reminiscent of the mid-year Sting Ray coupes. While it wasn’t a hatchback, the large fixed rear glass dramatically improved rearward visibility and added extra cargo space. Car and Driver praised the change, noting the new window “freshened up the Corvette’s profile” and helped reduce the car’s famously tight interior feel by letting in more space and light.

Inside, the Corvette saw several thoughtful updates. Though the center console layout remained largely the same, instrument bezels were redesigned from round to rectangular, a locking glovebox was added, and the door panels featured updated screw-in armrests. Every 1978 Corvette wore special 25th Anniversary badging to commemorate the milestone.

This particular 1978 Corvette comes equipped with the optional L82 350 CI small-block V8, automatic transmission, and Gymkhana suspension. Additional features include power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, factory air conditioning, power windows and locks, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, AM/FM CD stereo, and a rear window defogger.
