Available for auction is an extraordinary kinetic display table crafted by custom engineer Greg Stirling in San Jose, California. Reimagining automotive engineering as interactive kinetic art, this mesmerizing center piece utilizes a genuine 2.0-liter Type 901/16 flat-six engine originally produced for a 1969 Porsche 911T. Offering an unparalleled visual window into the golden era of air-cooled design, this mechanical sculpture serves as an ultimate focal point for any high-end garage, office, or private automobilia collection. The piece is now being auctioned out of California.

The foundation of the display is an authentic Porsche engine case, that was completely stripped and meticulously cut away to expose the intricate internal rotating assembly. Prior to reassembly, every individual component underwent sandblasting, precision machining, and premium finishing, blending mirror-painted accents, vapor-honed textures, and highly polished metallic surfaces. The bespoke build was upgraded for smooth, continuous operation, incorporating custom stainless-steel timing chains and ultra-high-molecular-weight (UHMW) polyethylene dry-running piston sleeves that remove the need for standard internal lubrication. The entire motor rests on a premium, hand-rubbed walnut base enriched with a vibrant, full-color Porsche crest and a classic gold-tone 911T model designation. Engine number ☆6197160☆ corresponds to a Type 901/16 flat‑six produced for a 1969 Porsche 911T.

The kinetic assembly is driven smoothly by an integrated Dayton DC gearmotor working alongside a Morse torque-limiting safety clutch, a specialized timing-belt system, and a 3-amp inline fuse. An included variable-speed controller allows the owner to adjust the engine’s movement seamlessly between a hypnotic 10 to 60 RPM, allowing observers to watch the synchronized dance of the pistons, connecting rods, camshafts, and valvetrain components in real-time. Power is funneled cleanly through a standard, computer-style power entry module equipped with a detachable AC power cord.

Measuring approximately 30″ wide, 25″ deep, and 17″ tall with a robust weight of roughly 198 pounds, this functional mechanical exhibit is complete with its official Certificate of Authenticity and a 3/8″ tempered glass tabletop.
