1969 Hurst/Olds 442:

Limited-Production Muscle with a Rebuilt 455 Big Block & 3.91 Anti-Spin

This 1969 Hurst/Olds 442 combines rarity and real big-block performance in one exclusive muscle car. Oldsmobile and Hurst built only 906 Hurst/Olds hardtop coupes for the public in 1969, joining Oldsmobile refinement with serious horsepower. This example runs a rebuilt, period-correct Oldsmobile 455 V8 with Edelbrock aluminum heads, a Comp Cams Thumpr camshaft, and MSD ignition. A heavy-duty TH400 and a 3.91-geared Anti-Spin rear end put that torque to the pavement. If you want something more exclusive than the usual Camaro, Chevelle, or Mustang, this Hurst/Olds deserves a serious look.

Engine & Transmission

  • Rebuilt, period-correct Oldsmobile 455 cubic-inch big-block V8 (not numbers-matching)

  • 396021F block casting, an authentic Oldsmobile big-block foundation rather than a modern engine swap

  • 800 CFM Quadrajet carburetor

  • Edelbrock Performer intake manifold

  • Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum cylinder heads:

    • 77cc combustion chambers
    • 218cc intake runners and 138cc exhaust runners
    • 2.150-inch intake valves and 1.680-inch exhaust valves
  • Comp Cams Thumpr camshaft (part #42-600-5, OL 279TH-107 grind) for a deep, loping idle that announces this big block’s presence

  • Comp Cams Magnum 1.6-ratio roller rockers

  • Comp Cams Magnum 9.8-inch pushrods

  • Upgraded MSD HEI ignition system

  • Heavy-duty Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 automatic transmission, built to handle big-block torque

Exterior

  • Distinctive 1969 Hurst/Olds styling that sets it apart at any show or cruise night
  • Hardtop coupe body style, one of only 906 built for the public in 1969
  • Hurst/Olds identity that marks one of the most recognized collaborations of the muscle car era
  • Detailed exterior photos and condition notes available upon request

Interior

  • Classic late-1960s Oldsmobile cabin blending comfort with muscle car purpose
  • Detailed interior photos and condition notes available upon request

Suspension & Chassis

  • Oldsmobile-specific 12-bolt-style rear axle
  • Anti-Spin limited-slip differential for strong, even traction
  • Aggressive 3.91:1 gearing for quick, eager acceleration off the line

Additional Info

  • Factory production records show only 906 Hurst/Olds hardtop coupes built for the general public in 1969
  • Born from Oldsmobile’s partnership with Hurst, a celebrated name in performance hardware
  • Period-correct Oldsmobile 455 configuration keeps the car true to its big-block heritage
