1932 Ford Model B Hot Rod Pickup – Custom-Built Street Machine
This custom-built 1932 Ford Model B Hot Rod Pickup is a true head-turner, crafted just three years ago with classic style and modern flair. Starting with a genuine ’32 cab and a brand-new bed, the body sits on a custom-built 1931 Model B frame. It features hairpin front suspension, a 4-inch dropped and drilled axle, and a Mustang rear end for solid performance and stance.
Powering this Hot Rod is a cammed 283 V8 fitted with Lake-style headers (3.5-inch collectors and 1 5/8-inch exhaust) and muffler inserts for a bold tone. Motorcycle baffles help tame the exhaust note just a bit. A new aluminum radiator keeps things cool, and power is delivered through a Turbo 350 automatic transmission and a Vega steering box for smooth driving. Note: The exhaust setup is legal in all states except California.
The body has been chopped 4 inches and channeled 4 inches, with a lowered new grille for that classic aggressive hot rod profile. Finished in single-stage black paint, it carries an old-school, no-nonsense look. The fenderless style shows off its raw character, though bed braces remain if future fender installation is desired.
Inside, custom metal Bomber-style seats with removable cushions add a vintage race vibe. The passenger seat lifts for access to the battery. A banjo-style tilt steering wheel offers easier cab entry, and a full set of new Speedway gauges are installed—all functional except the fuel gauge, which isn’t connected due to the bed-mounted stainless gas tank.
The pickup features front disc brakes and rear drums for balanced stopping power. Up front, Glide LED headlights with integrated turn signals light the way, while out back, custom 1950 Pontiac tail lights complete the retro styling. A fresh visor tops the windshield, which tilts open as shown.
Newer tires sit on American Racing wheels (255/70R15 rear, 195/60R14 front), giving it a tough stance. The bed is finished in new hardwood and features the polished stainless gas tank. It also comes with new glass throughout, with just one window left to install (as of April 2025). A new e-brake cable has been added as well.
Titled in Massachusetts as a 1932 Ford in the current owner’s name, this hot rod is a solid, stylish ride that’s ready to cruise, show, or simply enjoy.
