This 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk pairs European grand touring style with proud American V8 character. It is a rare and rewarding piece of postwar design history. Studebaker was struggling in the early 1960s. Its sales fell more than 20 percent from 1960 to 1961, and its entire 1961 lineup of 103,000 units was outsold by Chevrolet’s Bel Air alone, at 343,000. New company president Sherwood H. Egbert turned to his friend Brooks Stevens, the celebrated industrial designer who had reshaped Willys’ passenger cars in the mid-1950s, to reinvent the aging Hawk.
Stevens transformed Raymond Loewy’s 1953 Starliner Coupe into something sporty yet luxurious, modern yet timeless. The car debuted on the evening of October 29, 1961, in an advertisement on the Mister Ed television show, and it reached dealer showrooms nationwide the next day. The new GT Hawk outsold the 1961 Hawk by more than 2.5 times, yet only 9,335 were built for 1962. This well-kept example comes from a southern collector who clearly gave it great care. It wears beautiful Ermine White paint over a gorgeous red interior. Whether you’re buying your first collector car or adding to a curated collection, this GT Hawk delivers rarity, design pedigree, and true road-ready enjoyment.

ACC Auctions has been a wonderful resource for us and our dealership! The process of listing vehicles on ACC Auctions is very simple and the wide exposure has helped us reach more buyers and get more cars sold. There have been times where reserves have not been met, but even after the auction has ended Joe works very hard trying to put deals together that work for both parties. And in many cases, he’s been successful. We can’t say enough about how much he cares about his customers and how hard he works to be a world-class auction site!

We really appreciate how ACC continues to work with both parties even after the live auction has ended. They were able to help us reach a deal with the high bidder 4 days after the auction ended, a deal that was fair for both sides and everyone was happy. Hard working staff at ACC really seemed to care about helping us get the sale completed even though it was not a high dollar sale that would make them much on the buyer’s fee. Will use again and will be recommending to my friends!

I have purchased multiple vehicles through ACC auctions. I have a real passion for classic rare stock performance vehicles. ACC has managed to list some very unique cars, some of which I’ve been fortunate enough to win at auction. I’ve always received extraordinarily punctual high-quality service when I had questions or needed support through a transaction. I’ve even recommended friends marketing vehicles to use ACC auctions to assist them with their transactions. If I recommend them to my friends, I would certainly recommend to anybody!

Joe and his team are always a pleasure to deal with. They are quick to answer any questions or concerns that a seller or buyer would have. Always willing to work with the seller and buyer to make a sale happen. The auction site is easy to navigate and user friendly. I have been dealing with Joe for many years and would highly recommend him and his team.

I’ve sold a couple cars through ACC Auctions and have experienced very satisfactory results. I find the process to list a car, place bids, and ask questions or make comments extremely simple, which is greatly appreciated by those who didn’t grow up with modern technology. The greatest benefit, though, is having the ability to communicate directly with the person in charge, Joe, and receiving timely responses. I don’t find this easily available with most widely known auction sites.

I am so happy with my experience buying from ACC. I appreciate the reserve meter which allowed me to plan ahead. The auction did not meet reserve but ACC helped me & the seller reach a very fair deal. The spent 3 days with me and the seller to get it done so everyone was happy! A+ work, unlike any other auction site out there!
