This 1966 Ford Mustang Sprint 200 is finished in factory-correct Silver Blue over a matching blue interior and powered by a 200ci inline-six engine. It is paired with an automatic Cruise-O-Matic transmission utilizing a Ford C4. The car was garage-kept from 1985 through 2025, remaining indoors for approximately 40 years before undergoing recent cosmetic and mechanical recommissioning.

A new paint job in Silver Blue was recently completed, giving the car a fresh, uniform finish while retaining its original color combination. The repaint highlights the Mustang’s clean body lines, chrome trim, and classic first-generation proportions.

The 200ci inline-six has been refurbished, including internal valvetrain work and major service components. Work performed includes replacement of some valves, rocker arms, and lifters, along with new spark plugs, distributor cap and wires, carburetor, air cleaner, battery and cables, starter, and alternator. The engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and delivers the balanced, light-front-end driving character typical of six-cylinder Mustangs.

The blue interior retains its period-correct layout with bucket seats and classic horizontal dash trim. A new RetroSound-style stereo has been installed, providing modern audio capability while maintaining a factory-style appearance.

Garage-kept for four decades and recently refreshed both mechanically and cosmetically, this “Springtime” Sprint 200 represents a well-preserved example of the original lightweight Mustang formula—an approachable and increasingly appreciated configuration within the first-generation Mustang market.

This well-preserved Sprint 200 captures the simple charm and balanced driving character that made the original Mustang an American icon.

    do all the gauges work?
assume no power steering or power disk brakes?
what other issues would be a concern or need attention ?

    • hloebl says:

      Hi there.
All the gauges work. The engine runs great. No current issues with the car driving on a regular basis. It does not have power steering and it does not have power brakes. Tried to keep to as much originality as possible. The brakes do extremely well. Always keeping fluid full.

If you would like to make an offer please let me know quickly as I do have a couple of folks considering the car.

      Any other questions message me.

      Thank you!

How.come the front edge of drivers door wasn’t straight out?

    • hloebl says:

The minor damage was left prior to paint as it was very small and I did not want to affect the integrity of the door and the hinge. The car was painted and made that spot more noticeable and profound.

  • hloebl says:

Hey there. If you have any questions on the Mustang, I am around to answer.
This 1966 Sprint 200 is a great cruiser. Happy bidding!

    • nick1955 says:

Any fluid leaks? Does engine smoke, or did recent engine repairs make engine like new? Always a Florida car since new? Are tires good, replaced recently?

    • hloebl says:

      Hi Nick.
      – No leaks
      – Engine runs very well. Starts up right away most every time. Of course, if the car sits for a week I would pump the gas pedal a couple times.
      – Repairs are listed in the detail above, but mainly I did a top end refresh of the engine including lifters, push rods rocker arms, gaskets. Also put a new starter, Alt and new cables, spark plugs and battery.
      – The car was garage kept by previous owner in Virginia if I recall from 1985 to 2025 when I purchased it. The car drove less than 2000 miles in 40 years.
      – Tires on this car are 2012 Hankook. However when I purchased the car the tire tread looked almost brand new and I have driven the car about 250 miles since purchase. I would venture to say new tires are needed just due to their age, but these are practically new. The whitewall is a nice touch as well.

Any more questions do not hesitate to message.

I took the car out today only to start it up and move it a few minutes. It is a great looking ride.
