A Remarkable Arizona Survivor
This 1958 Buick Roadmaster Riviera Sedan (Model 75) stands as one of the most impressive survivors of its era — a well-kept, well-preserved example benefiting from a lifetime in Arizona’s dry climate. With only one known repaint and showing a believed-original 49,000 miles, it retains the integrity, look, and character of a true time-capsule Buick.
Finished in the elegant Silver Mist finish, the car reportedly received its repaint in the 1990s and still presents beautifully. The original chrome and brightwork remain in striking condition, reinforcing the car’s rust-free history and careful ownership.
Inside, the Roadmaster showcases its mostly original silver cloth interior with optional leather trim, all in excellent condition. The dash pad is flawless, the steering wheel appears nearly new, and the interior chrome and stainless trim gleam with the kind of depth you only find on well-preserved originals. Even the factory AM radio functions properly and still produces that warm, vintage sound.
Being proactive the owner had the entire cooling system completely restored with a re-cored radiator, new thermostat, and new water pump to handle Florida heat. The car now runs cool and steady, even on the hottest days with the A/C on.
When the original generator began to fail, it too was replaced along with the pigtail wiring loop, voltage regulator, and battery, leaving the charging system operating as it should.
Overall, this 1958 Buick Roadmaster Riviera Sedan is a standout example — a beautifully preserved survivor with factory air conditioning, power accessories, documented mechanical investment, and an undeniable road presence. It starts easily, runs cool, cruises comfortably, and delivers the elegant ride quality Buick was famous for in the 1950s. A rare opportunity to acquire a premium, rust-free Roadmaster.

So embarrassed. I’m either going blind or lost my ability to count. There are clearly 6 cells in the photo. Beautiful car. If I hadn’t just filled my plate with that other Buick I would probably make an offer. Hard to find in this condition. Hope it goes to another Buick lover.
No worries at all — an honest mistake. It really is a gorgeous car, and we’re confident we’ll find the right caretaker for her.
Out of curiosity, what type of Buick did you end up purchasing?
Bought that white 1963 Buick Electra 225 convertible through ACC.
that appears to be a 6 volt battery. I know it is probably correct from looking at other 1958 Buick engine photos. It is a 12 volt system, so what gives.
HibDavid,
The owner said it is a 12 volt – He replaced it when he replaced the generator, wiring loop and voltage regulator.
