This 1956 Chevrolet Cameo Pickup is a fine example of Chevy’s limited-production, high-style hauler. Built on the 3000-series chassis with a 114-inch wheelbase, the Cameo featured Fisher Body style #3124 and shared the updated styling cues of the 1956 truck lineup. What set it apart was its distinctive fiberglass rear fender panels, bolted to the standard steel cargo box to create a flush, slab-sided profile. Chrome moldings bridged the transition between the bed and cab, giving it a sleek, integrated look.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the reliable 265 CI V8 paired with a GM Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission—delivering surprising performance for a small-block. The truck was restored some time ago and still shows well today. Numerous components have been replaced, including a new wood bed, exhaust, shocks, brake hoses, and master cylinder.

Everything is fully functional—lights, wipers, horn, heater—all ready to go. It rides on period-correct Firestone Deluxe wide whitewalls mounted on stock wheels with original-style hubcaps. A true turnkey classic that’s ready to drive and enjoy.

What is the history on the engine?
Any info on paint and what is original on the body? Has the tailgate been repainted? It could be the lighting but it looks to be a shade off.

    • TB says:

We got the truck in its current condition and no restoration history was available. The whole truck has been repainted and there is no variation in the color.
