Originally developed in response to shifting trends in the automotive market, the Porsche 928 marked a significant milestone as the brand’s first fully in-house production design. Intended as a possible successor to the 911, the 928 was engineered to combine the performance and agility of a true sports car with the comfort, space, and refinement of a luxury grand tourer.

It was also the first Porsche production model to feature a front-mounted V8 engine, delivering impressive power and high-speed capability. Upon its debut in 1978, the 928 quickly gained acclaim and was honored with the prestigious title of European Car of the Year—a testament to its innovative engineering and bold vision.

This 1983 Porsche 928S is finished in Slate Blue Metallic paint with a coordinating blue leather interior. Power for this 928 is provided by a 4.7-liter sixteen valve V-8 motor paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

Currently showing 74,603 miles, this well-balanced Porsche 928 comes to a quick start and shifts effortlessly through the manual dog leg transmission. Although the typical dash cracks are present, the interior of this car shows very well from the blue leather seating to the carpet and rear hatch area. The factory radio has been upgraded with an Alpine unit with Bluetooth compatibility.

The Slate Blue Metallic paint on this Porsche is in particularly good condition with only some minor chips typical of a 42-year-old car. The sixteen inch flat disc wheels feature Porsche crest center caps and are wrapped with 225/50ZR16 Continental tires with a 2024 production date.

The driver’s side electric mirror is inoperable and has to be manually adjusted, the air conditioning is operational, but it does not blow cold. All other components of this 1983 Porsche 928S appear to be working as required.
