1967 Plymouth GTX – Real RS23, 440-Powered, Beautifully Restored

This is a genuine RS23-code 1967 Plymouth GTX, equipped with its correct 440 engine, 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission, and 8¾” SureGrip rear end with 3.23 gears. It features power front disc brakes and a firm-feel modern steering box for improved drivability.

The body is rust-free and exceptionally straight, finished in high-quality paint that shows beautifully. This GTX has had only three owners since new, with the most recent owner purchasing it from a family friend. Over the past few years, it has undergone a complete mechanical restoration.

The 440 V8 was rebuilt in 2022 and has only 2,000 miles since. It’s a .030 over build with 10:1 compression, a Holley 750 CFM carb, Edelbrock E-Street aluminum heads, Edelbrock Performer intake, 440 Source aluminum water pump housing, and a gear-reduction mini starter. Ignition is upgraded with a PerTronix Flamethrower distributor and Comp Cams setup, producing an estimated 450 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque.

The transmission was rebuilt in 2017 along with a stock 2200 RPM converter and a B&M shift kit.

Inside, the car is just as impressive. The seats, carpet, door panels, headliner, and package tray all appear new and are in excellent condition. All chrome around the windows and center console has been refinished, and the bumpers and stainless brightwork are outstanding—some of the best you’ll see on a ’67 GTX.

This is an incredibly clean and well-sorted classic muscle car. If you’re looking for a turn-key, properly restored GTX with power, style, and history, this one will not disappoint.
