This 1968 Corvette Convertible was originally delivered by Mike O’Conner Chevrolet-Buick in December 1967 to its first owner in Sedalia, Missouri. It’s one of just 624 factory L89-equipped Corvettes built that year, and fewer than half are believed to survive today.
Under the hood, the matching-numbers L71 427ci Tri-Power V8 features the rare L89 performance option, adding lightweight aluminum heads for increased horsepower and reduced weight. The car retains its correct code 983 British Green exterior and is paired with an M21 close-ratio 4-speed manual, posi-traction rear axle, and off-road exhaust system upgrade.
Additional factory options include power brakes, transistorized ignition, an AM/FM radio, F70x15 red-stripe nylon tires, rally wheels, and tinted glass. A comprehensive restoration was completed in 2007 in preparation for Bloomington Gold judging.
Options include:
L71 427ci/435hp Turbo Jet V8 with triple Holley carbs
L89 aluminum cylinder heads
M21 close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission
K66 transistorized ignition
G81 posi-traction axle
J50 power brakes
N11 special off-road exhaust
U69 AM/FM radio
A01 tinted glass
Rally wheels with F70x15 red line tires
A stunning and rare piece of Corvette history, beautifully restored and ready to be admired.
