The Porsche 928 was originally designed to address shifts in the automotive market and represented the company’s first fully in-house production vehicle design. It was intended to potentially replace the iconic Porsche 911 as the flagship model. The 928 aimed to combine the performance and handling of a sports car with the comfort and space of a luxury vehicle. Notably, it was Porsche’s first production model with a front-mounted V8 engine and impressive top speeds, earning the European Car of the Year award in 1978.

This 1983 Porsche 928 S is finished in Slate Blue Metallic, complemented by a blue leather interior. It’s powered by a 4.7-liter, 16-valve V8 engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

Showing 74,603 miles, this well-balanced 928 starts up quickly and shifts smoothly through the dog-leg transmission. While the dashboard has some typical cracks, the interior is in great condition, with blue leather seats, clean carpet, and a well-kept rear hatch. The factory radio has been replaced with an Alpine unit featuring Bluetooth connectivity.

The Slate Blue Metallic paint is in great shape, showing only minor chips typical of a 42-year-old car. The 16-inch flat disc wheels have Porsche crest center caps and are fitted with 225/50ZR16 Continental tires from 2024.

The driver’s side electric mirror isn’t working and must be adjusted manually. The air conditioning works, but it doesn’t blow cold air. Otherwise, everything else in the car appears to be functioning properly.
