1 owner car, painted in Purple Pearl Metallic with a Medium Gray Cloth Interior, using a LT1 and a BW 6-spd manual with a 3.42 ltd slip rear axle to get it in motion. This 1994 Camaro Z28 has the 1LE upgrade, a bespoke package for road racing, primarily stemming from the SCCA Showroom Stock Racing Series starting in the mid 80’s, while the Z28 has its origins dating back to 1967 and the SCCA Trans Am series. Note, there are no options on this Camaro as there were practically no other options available in combination with the 1LE package, to optimize on weight savings as well as for structural integrity.

In the Order Guide one can find the requirements when ordering this package, only available on the Z28 coupe: FZAB (base Preferred Equipment Group, PEG) and QLC tires were mandatory, hence none of the options included in the FZA1 and FZA2 PEG’s were available and neither were AC3 power seats or CC1 roof panels. This package was, as the Order Guide stated: “Intended for serious performance enthusiasts only”. The 1LE-package brings a very noticeable upgrade to the Z28 suspension, with the increased firmness in the suspension and tighter feel. In 1993 Motor Trend magazine could observe a 12 second difference in one lap at Road America, comparing a 1LE to a regular Z28.

The 1LE-package included: larger anti-roll bars, beefier shock absorbers, stiffer springs, harder bushings in the front and rear suspension including the panhard bar, stronger gearbox mount, additional cooling ducts for the radiator and an oil cooler for the engine, in addition you also find the mandatory Goodyear GS-C tires together with a 150 mph speedometer when the 1LE option was ordered. Chevrolet information states that 135 Z28’s were built with this package for 1994.

I ordered this 1LE from Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids, MI, and it was originally titled, registered and insured in Michigan (I still have the Michigan title) but I had it shipped to Sweden right away. Note, it is fully built to US specifications including the emission system. All this information can be found on the car including the rpo-code NA5 Fed emission system on the SPID-label. This 1LE is 100% factory stock and unmolested right down to the original Good Year GS-C tires which still look like new.

A well-documented vehicle (e.g. Order acknowledgement, Buyers order, Sales order, Invoice, Window sticker, Factory Manifest, Berger PDI, Customer satisfaction appraisal, Road Assistance pkg and more + Swedish documentation) from the day it was built, May 17 1994, till today, documentation also includes pictures and video from pick-up day at Berger Chevrolet.

Always kept in a climate controlled garage under a car cover and pampered in general. Only driven during the summer months and never in inclement weather, it has always been very clean inside (the interior still smell like new) and out including the engine compartment and underneath. You’ll be hard pressed to find a nicer one, and everything works as intended. In my opinion the condition of this 1LE Camaro is as one would expect, and then some, with 3,049 miles on the clock and it really looks and drives like new i.e. as close as one can be. There are however some age related imperfections: small portions of the hood insulation has some discoloration and the sunshade straps have lost some of their elasticity. On the undercarriage just below the radiator fan a minor dent (from a floor jack) can be seen and underneath the front end there is a minor chafing (during shipping) in the paint.

The US Carfax report, covering the period June 8 1994 – June 23 1994, shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Michigan from the first registration and title till being exported from Baltimore, MD, to Sweden two weeks later. The Swedish Carfax report, covering the period June 8 1994 and till today, shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Sweden and with no change of ownership. This 1LE Camaro has 3k miles and is now offered for sale by the owner, with clean US Carfax and Swedish Carfax reports, along with a clean Swedish title in the owner’s name, and as mentioned above the original Michigan title is also going with car.
