THE STORY:
The Bentley S2 Continental, a true work of art with coach-built touches, is a unique masterpiece from its period. Adorned in a mesmerizing Silver exterior and contrasting gray interior, this Bentley isn’t just a car; it’s an eye-catching tale of elegance that drives and performs flawlessly.

Serial number 76 of 100, this legend effortlessly cruises between 75-80 mph, thanks to its powerful 7.2L Bentley V8 engine. The Continental model, designed for high-speed travel in great comfort, features right-handed power steering, power brakes, and windows for a seamless driving experience.

While the air conditioning needs restoration, it’s crucial to note the car’s unique story. The previous owner, at 85, encountered a small fire under the hood and atop the fender, leading to a touch-up attempt. A trip to the paint shop will return the luster back to this beauty. This incident, while leaving a mark on the car’s history, has been part of its journey. A meticulous restoration investment of $45,000 encompasses not only mechanical components but also preserves the character that makes this Bentley one of a kind.

From the streets of Chicago, New York, and Northeast Ohio, it’s not just a car – it’s a statement. Immerse yourself in the legacy of this meticulously restored classic, and be the one to continue its story. Act now, seize the investment potential of this great English classic, and let this eye-catching Bentley be your journey’s companion.

Thank you for highlighting the distinctions between the S1 and S2 models. The clarification underscores that the S2 Standard Steel Saloon in Right Hand Drive form differed from the Coachbuilt Continental cars, as it lacked the lightweight aluminum bodies and distinctive BC chassis numbers associated with the latter. The mention of Bentley specifically identifying Long Wheelbase models with an ‘L’ in the VIN or chassis number adds valuable insight. Moreover, acknowledging that Bentley S2 cars were indeed fitted with Aluminum 6.2 Liter V-8 motors reinforces the accuracy of the information provided. This clarification helps to emphasize the evolution from the S1 with a straight 6 engine to the S2’s notable upgrade to a 6.2 Liter V8.

  • vintage89 says:

I further define the Bentley Continental claim. This car is a factory S2 Standard Steel Saloon in Right Hand Drive form. Bentley Continental cars were all Coachbuilt cars with lightweight aluminum bodies and a more sporting chassis.with a far higher value. Coachbuilders including Mulliner , Park Ward, and James Young were the most prolific Continental Coachbuilders. Bentley Continental cars were gives BC chassis numbers as first VIN. characters which this example does not carry. This example is also standard wheelbase and not a Long Wheelbase model. Bentley would Ispecifically identify Long Wheelbase models with an L in the VIN or chassis number.. As mentioned in other comments Bentley S2 cars were fitted with Aluminum 6.2 Liter V-8 motors.

  • ronnysgarage says:

This car is not a Continental model, engine size is not 7.2L (they never made that size), no pictures under the hood with air conditioning components.

    • CARuso Classics says:

Hi Ronnie and thank you for your questions. I’m working on getting answers for you but the owner is out of town. Give me a couple of hours and I will get back to you.

    • CARuso Classics says:

Hi Ronnie your statement aligns with my research findings. The Bentley in question is a Continental S2 model, as it features a 6.2 Liter Bentley V8 engine used in the S2 models. Additionally, Bentley did not produce a 7.2L engine size, contrary to the owner’s claim. The absence of air conditioning components under the hood further supports the accuracy of your observations. I spoke to the mechanic who worked on the car and he believes it does not have air. I hope this helps you.
