A well-optioned two-door pickup truck is one of the unicorns of the half-ton pickup truck universe these days, considering almost all pickups in the 21st Century are the four-door variety. A local consignor purchased this low mileage truck out of Arkansas in 2017 with 15,674 miles. Current mileage reads 17,313 and is understood to be actual.
This tan Chevrolet Silverado was made in GM’s Flint, Michigan factory and may have been initially sold at Stanley Wood Chevrolet in Batesville, Arkansas (which is still active today).
Finished in Doeskin Tan (code 61), this truck is in fantastic shape for being 40 years old. The paint and trim are in overall excellent shape. The bodywork is straight and solid and the Fleetside bed has a cargo liner as well as corrugated aluminum bars atop the bed sides. The engine bay is very tidy, the chrome front and corrugated rear bumpers fit tightly to the body.
This truck rolls on white stripe tires, size 205/75R15 at all four corners and mounted on a Rallye wheel (code NG7). The tires and wheels are in good, original order. There’s also a front stabilizer bar and the truck rides on a 131.5-inch wheelbase and has a GVWR of 5,200 pounds.
Under the hood is a 305 CID V-8 (code LE9) with a four-barrel carburetor. Backing this motor is a Turbo Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 2.73:1 rear end. For a mid-80s pickup truck, this one is fairly loaded – air-conditioning,
A/C does not blow cold and is in need of a recharge. Power steering, heavy-duty power brakes, Comfortilt steering column, cruise control and intermittent windshield wipers.
Inside is a Burgundy interior (code CEE1). The cloth bench seat looks great, as does the tan headliner. The dashboard, with its full array of ancillary gauges, looks great, as do the interior door panels. A column-mounted shift lever and a Delco AM/FM stereo round out the interior.
For 1985, the grille was changed for the last time (as the C/K). For the first time, C/K half-ton trucks were offered with optional cast-aluminum wheels.
Half-ton competition to this C10 Scottsdale in 1985 included Dodge’s D-150, Ford’s F-150 XL and GMC’s High Sierra.
