Absolutely stunning 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback S-code! This car is a true concours-level restoration and may well be the nicest 67 you’ll ever see! The amount of time and money spent during the two year restoration is evident everywhere you look on this car – no detail was left unattended to. This Mustang was treated to a full rotisserie restoration that included a new complete floorpan, fenders, quarters, doors, trunk corners, trunk lid, front and rear valences, full outer rocker panels, outer shock towers, battery tray, torque box, and strut rod brackets. The new sheet metal looks as good or better than factory, with perfect gaps and fitment with laser straight lines. New old stock (NOS) parts were used wherever possible and many of the mechanical parts like the water pump, power steering pump, and distributor were rebuilt to preserve originality. The car comes with a USB stick that contains almost 900 photos of the restoration process from start to finish. Let’s take a closer look at this incredible Mustang…

The Lime Gold paint (original color) is show-quality, deep, glossy, and simply breath-taking! Proper prep work is key to such a beautiful paint job and it’s obvious that someone took the time to make sure things were done just right. Up front is a new black eggcrate grille with a pony-in-corral emblem and horizontal bar flanked by new fog lamps. The front bumper (and the rear as well) is gleaming and new. Brightwork is flawless and plentiful, with rocker molding, drip rail molding, window trim, grille surround, antenna, door handles, drivers’ side mirror, trunk trim, and tail light surrounds. Black accent stripes flow down the sides, wheel to wheel, just above the rockers and both fenders have fresh GT badging placed within the stripes. Body-color fastback vents and rear quarter ornamental vents add to the stunning iconic look. All glass has been replaced with new crystal clear pieces, the front vent window assemblies have been replaced with new ones, and window felts and weather stripping are new as well. Around back you’ll notice a brand new 67 GT gas cap, new lenses for the concave tail lights, and chrome dual exhaust tips on each side. Just as when it was new, this Mustang rolls down the road on steel wheels with bright wire wheel covers and Wide Oval bias-ply tires – an awesome look.

Lifting the hood and looking beneath will get any classic car lovers’ blood pumping faster! At the heart of this S-code Pony is what we firmly believe to be its original 390ci V-8 and 4-speed top-loader transmission. Ford engines of this period were not numbered to match the car, they were just date coded. While the engine was out of the car during the restoration (before the engine was painted) the restorer photographed these codes so that they could be seen clearly. The FE engine block dates to Oct. 8 1966, the big block heads have 2.02/1.55 valves and 68 chamber – denoting it as a GT, the transmission dates to Oct. 21, the casting number on the heads tells us that they’re specific to a 67-68 big block, and the car was assembled on January 6 1967. All of these factors lead us to the conclusion that this car very likely has the drivetrain it was born with. While the engine was out of the car the block was bored and honed, the crank was polished, and the heads were ported. In addition, it received new rings, rod bearings, main bearings, cam bearings, pin bushings, ARP rod bolts, timing chain and gears, oil pump, complete gasket set, Erson camshaft, Erson lifters, and a freeze plug kit. Finally, the engine was given a fresh coat of Ford Blue and topped off with chrome valve covers before being mated back to the transmission and put back into the car. The engine bay is immaculately clean and stock in appearance with correct factory markings, stamps, and decals. Even small details like Autolite plug wires and Fomoco radiator hoses have been attended to. In addition to the aforementioned rebuilt water pump, power steering pump, and distributor you’ll find a new 3-core big block radiator, power brakes (disc/drum) with all new lines, a blue air cleaner with chrome top, an Autolite alternator, an Autolite battery with correct topper, and a Fomoco washer bag.

The undercarriage of this Mustang is every bit as impressive as the topside! The bottom of the car has been treated to a beautiful coat of red oxide primer that sets the stage for all of the work that’s been done underneath. There are new leaf springs, upper and lower control arms, strut rod bushings, coil springs and swaybar bushings. The rear axle has benn sandblasted, repainted, and rebuilt. The drum brakes were also sandblasted and rebuilt to look and work as well as when new. There is a new gas tank and all fuel lines have been replaced. The exhaust is new from the cast manifolds back and it sounds amazing. It truly looks like underside of a car that just rolled off the assembly line in 1967!

It will surely come as no surprise at this point that the interior of the car has been treated to the same high level of restoration as the rest of the car. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and it even has that “”new car smell””! The black vinyl standard bucket seats have been refoamed and recovered and look like brand new. The rear seat has been given the same treatment and looks like it’s never been used. The door panels, kick panels, and rear side panels are all new and look like it. The floor is covered with new high quality hook & loop carpet with black rubber floormats and the black vinyl headliner is nice and tight. The vents on the rear pillars are nice and bright and work just as they should. The upper and lower dash are new, as are the gauge bezel, trim rings, and radio surround. The OEM AM radio works perfectly, and so do the heat and fan controls. All of the courtesy lights come on when you open a door and all of the gauges illuminate when you turn on the headlights. Door handles, window cranks, lock buttons, door sill plates, and the interior mirror control all look brand new. The driver is treated to a black 3-spoke steering wheel with logo centercap and working horn as well as a floor shifter for the 4-speed with a black pattern ball and finger-lifts. Back in the trunk you’ll find a high quality plaid mat and a Wide Oval spare tire with a factory-style jack.

Unless you bought one new in 67, this is as close as you can get to owning a brand new 1967 Mustang GT S-code 4-speed car. This car will certainly be a shining star in someone’s collection, so don’t wait to call and miss out on this rare opportunity to put it in your garage!
