1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop in Sierra Gold with Adobe Beige hardtop and brown and beige cloth interior. The current owner has possessed it for over 20 years. It features a thought-to-be rebuilt 265 cubic inch 2-barrel V8 engine housed in a meticulously clean compartment. Although the engine is believed to not be numbers matching since its installation in 1991. Paired with a 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission, it retains its original 6-volt system with a generator.

In 2022, it underwent a disc brake conversion and had a sway bar added. Despite lacking power steering, it features “480 Air”. The metallic paint is in excellent condition overall, with only minor imperfections as indicated. Body panels are aligned impeccably, and all trim and badging remain intact and in very good to excellent condition. There are some minor dents and pitting on the window trim chrome, as shown. Chrome bumpers are in great condition.

Inside, the interior is clean, boasting an intact headliner and comfortable cloth upholstery bench seating, albeit with some minor wear and a burst seam on the driver’s side. It’s equipped with an aftermarket AM/FM cassette player with a Jensen speaker in the rear and a factory clock. Seatbelts are present.

The trunk compartment is clean, lined with rubber, and includes a full factory spare mounted on a steel rim with a jack. Underneath, the undercarriage is clean, featuring single exhaust and numerous new suspension parts. The car rides on newer white letter BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires mounted on Corvette-style wheels.

This Bel Air, surpassing driver quality, is in overall excellent condition, starting, running, and handling excellently. It comes with four extra tires mounted on factory steel wheels with factory wheel covers. Always garaged and meticulously maintained, it is stored in MA. Since it was purchased before 1990, when classic cars did not require titles in MA, it will be sold with current registration, a bill of sale, and a supporting letter from the MA RMV.

I believe that is a 12 volt battery. Two volts per cell and there are 6 cells in that battery. 1957 Chevy’s were all 12 volt with a generator. 265 V-8’s were original to 1955-1956. Not 1957, but that could be what someone had on hand. Nevertheless, a beautiful and desirable car. I love it!
