This stunning 1948 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window Custom Resto Mod is the result of a professional, no-expense-spared build, offering both show-winning pedigree and modern performance. With only 2,840 miles since its completion, this truck remains in pristine, ready-to-show condition. At its heart is a 454 cubic inch V8 paired with a smooth 4-speed automatic transmission, delivering commanding power with refined drivability. A custom 4-link rear suspension with airbags ensures a smooth, adjustable ride, while coil springs and a 10-bolt rear end provide added stability and performance.
The exterior gleams in a breathtaking Custom Gold Metal Flake paint, set off by hand-applied flame accents and brilliant chrome trim. Suicide doors add a dramatic custom touch, while 18-inch Foose wheels complete the truck’s aggressive and elegant stance. The show-quality presentation is matched by a fully customized Saddle leather interior, equipped with Vintage Air®, power windows, locks, and a modern JVC AM/FM audio system with cruise control for added comfort on long hauls or cruise nights.
Beyond its striking design and mechanical excellence, this custom 1948 Chevrolet 3100 carries true hot rod heritage. It has been personally signed by Gene Winfield and Darryl Starbird — two of the most legendary customizers in American car culture, whose influence helped shape the golden age of custom design. This truck has been recognized on the national stage, earning elite placement at World of Wheels, Darryl Starbird’s National Rod & Custom Shows, and the Starbird-Devlin Magnificent Seven, a coveted honor reserved for the top seven custom vehicles in competition.
With 11 Best of Show wins and over 42 additional awards, including Best Paint, Best Engine, Top 10, and Spectator’s Pick, this is a pedigreed showpiece — one that brings both the performance of a modern build and the acclaim of a proven, judged example of American hot rod artistry.
Accompanied by comprehensive documentation and build receipts for every aspect of the restoration, this is a truly special 5-window pickup that blends timeless design with modern upgrades and unmatched show credentials. Completing its period-correct presentation, it also features a 1948 Maine license plate — a nostalgic finishing touch that ties together its heritage and visual authenticity. Ideal for collectors, exhibitors, and those seeking a turn-key showpiece with legendary roots.

Please take a look at the description of this vehicle. I know there’s plenty of these out there, however none of those have the pedigree the awards and are nationally recognized like this wonderful build. The custom paint the vintage air custom interior and the custom build a second to none. There was well over $100,000 invested in this high-level build. We are planning to send this Custom 1948, Chevrolet 3100 5 window pick up to its new owner tomorrow. Good luck.!
Did they drive this truck or trailer to shows. It’s a beautiful truck but need one I can drive to shows
Oddcars4 under our ownership over the last 5 years we drove this vehicle to shows so under your maintenance you will have no problem driving, showing and winning any show you attend.
When was the restoration done? Was it restored by a shop?
Oddcars4 the restoration was completed before we purchased. I am not in the office today however I can look at all of the records we have showing when and where the restoration was completed. Take a look at the description that will explain when this was done and also the awards this build has achieved
Thanks , I did read the description very carefully and that is one of the primary reasons I am interested in the truck. I will wait to hear from you regarding when and where the restoration was completed. Thanks again

Al I will reach out to you tomorrow. Happy Memorial Day! Ed
Al based on the receipts that I see this Vehicle was built by well known customizer James Roberts in Gilmer, Texas and that build started in 2006. The Custom work was done until late 2010 or early 2011 at that point James Roberts started showing the vehicle and winning awards. Some of the awards were in Dallas, Texas, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shreveport, Louisiana, Houston, Texas and in Wichita, Kansas. Mr. Roberts also had custom car legends Gene Winfield and Darryl Starbird Personally sign the inside of the tonneau cover. Al I am sure you will be the headliner at the next car show that you take this Vehicle to.
