This 1959 Ford Ranch Wagon is a beautifully executed pro-street custom that takes one of the most distinctive body styles of the era and transforms it into a road-ready driver with genuine presence. As the two-door entry in Ford’s full-size wagon lineup, the Ranch Wagon is leaner, lighter, and far rarer than the four-door models most people remember—and this example makes the most of that sporty proportioning. Finished in a sharp red over a rich tan vinyl interior, it wears its 1959 redesign proudly, from the bold horizontal grille and stacked quad headlights to the signature panoramic rear window that lets light flood the cabin. This is no pieced-together project. From the small-block V8 swap and reworked suspension to the undercoated undercarriage and color-matched details throughout, every choice reflects a consistent, thoughtful vision. For the collector who craves period character paired with modern usability, this well-sorted Ranch Wagon is ready to reward you mile after mile.
Engine & Driveline
Punchy small-block V8 engine swap that delivers modern performance while keeping true to the car’s Ford identity
Period-appropriate Ford Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic—Ford’s top automatic offering of the era, with its red-finished, Cruise-O-Matic-stamped pan visible in the undercarriage
Polished custom valve covers and an open-element air cleaner feeding the carburetor for a clean, purposeful engine bay
Red-painted engine bay that ties beautifully to the exterior color scheme
Air conditioning compressor mounted on the driver’s side and plumbed cleanly through the firewall
Dual exhaust with side-exit tips delivering a satisfying, throaty note
Column shift selector operating the Cruise-O-Matic through the factory-style gate
Chassis & Suspension
Coilover front suspension replacing the factory ball-joint setup for sharper handling and adjustable ride height
Upgraded rear sway bar—visible as the blue-painted bar underneath—for a more composed, planted feel
Upgraded shocks all around for improved ride quality and control
Tasteful lowered stance that tightens the wheel-to-fender gap and reads immediately as intentional
Power steering—a significant, practical upgrade given the size and weight of a full-size 1959 Ford body
Black-sprayed undercoating protecting the floor pans and framing, evidence of a builder who cared about the details buyers rarely see
Exterior
Sharp red finish that perfectly suits the clean, wide, low body lines of the 1959 Ford
Distinctive stacked quad headlights and bold horizontal-bar grille—hallmarks of the celebrated 1959 redesign
Signature panoramic rear window, intact and in excellent condition, offering a clear view straight through to the windshield
Long, purposeful two-door profile with the roofline running clean to the rear
Handsome American Racing wheels wrapped in modern performance rubber that fills the arches properly at the lowered ride height
Chrome front and rear bumpers in good condition, complemented by period-correct fender-mounted chrome side mirrors
Custom pinstriping applied to the hood and front fenders for a subtle, refined custom touch
Tinted glass throughout for reduced heat and glare—a practical benefit for warm-weather cruising
Interior
Rich tan vinyl throughout, covering the front and rear bench seats, door panels, and headliner, with clean, straight vertical pleating
Red seat belts fitted front and rear, adding both safety and a striking visual tie to the red exterior
Custom door panels finished in matching tan vinyl, each with a color-matched red door pull handle
Grant Classic wood rim steering wheel with polished aluminum spokes mounted on the factory column—a natural fit for a late-’50s Ford
Factory dashboard finished in red, retaining the original instrument cluster with its sweeping 0–120 mph horizontal speedometer
Factory-integrated AM radio with original-style push-button tuner and a period-correct clock alongside it
Integrated air conditioning vents below the dash and custom carpet covering the floor throughout
Chrome window cranks and door lock pins in good condition, completing a clean, cohesive two-tone cabin
Additional Info
A rare two-door Ranch Wagon body—leaner and sportier than the more common four-door wagons, and a longtime favorite among custom builders
Built with a single, consistent vision: coordinated red-and-tan scheme inside and out, thoughtful drivetrain choices, and reworked suspension geometry
Covers the practical bases—air conditioning, power steering, and modern handling—without losing the character of the original car
A usable, well-sorted custom that shows genuine care from the engine bay to the undercarriage
An eye-catching conversation piece with standout show presence and true collector appeal

We really appreciate how ACC continues to work with both parties even after the live auction has ended. They were able to help us reach a deal with the high bidder 4 days after the auction ended, a deal that was fair for both sides and everyone was happy. Hard working staff at ACC really seemed to care about helping us get the sale completed even though it was not a high dollar sale that would make them much on the buyer’s fee. Will use again and will be recommending to my friends!

I’ve sold a couple cars through ACC Auctions and have experienced very satisfactory results. I find the process to list a car, place bids, and ask questions or make comments extremely simple, which is greatly appreciated by those who didn’t grow up with modern technology. The greatest benefit, though, is having the ability to communicate directly with the person in charge, Joe, and receiving timely responses. I don’t find this easily available with most widely known auction sites.

I love how with ACC, they keep working with the buyer and seller to try to get a deal done even after the live auction ends. They really work hard to make sure both sides end up happy.

Joe and his team are always a pleasure to deal with. They are quick to answer any questions or concerns that a seller or buyer would have. Always willing to work with the seller and buyer to make a sale happen. The auction site is easy to navigate and user friendly. I have been dealing with Joe for many years and would highly recommend him and his team.

I have purchased multiple vehicles through ACC auctions. I have a real passion for classic rare stock performance vehicles. ACC has managed to list some very unique cars, some of which I’ve been fortunate enough to win at auction. I’ve always received extraordinarily punctual high-quality service when I had questions or needed support through a transaction. I’ve even recommended friends marketing vehicles to use ACC auctions to assist them with their transactions. If I recommend them to my friends, I would certainly recommend to anybody!

ACC Auctions has been a wonderful resource for us and our dealership! The process of listing vehicles on ACC Auctions is very simple and the wide exposure has helped us reach more buyers and get more cars sold. There have been times where reserves have not been met, but even after the auction has ended Joe works very hard trying to put deals together that work for both parties. And in many cases, he’s been successful. We can’t say enough about how much he cares about his customers and how hard he works to be a world-class auction site!

I am so happy with my experience buying from ACC. I appreciate the reserve meter which allowed me to plan ahead. The auction did not meet reserve but ACC helped me & the seller reach a very fair deal. The spent 3 days with me and the seller to get it done so everyone was happy! A+ work, unlike any other auction site out there!
