Burnyzz American Classic Horsepower
1 ASPEN ROAD
OCALA, FL 34480
The ZR-1 name for Corvette enthusiasts has always signified the penultimate version of Americas sports car. The original ZR1 was originally an RPO(Regular Production Option) code used on the 1970-1972 Corvette with a 370 horsepower, solid lifter small block V-8 and a limited production of only 53 units. Then the ZR-1 reappeared again in 1990 with a Lotus designed, all aluminum, 4-cam 32 valve V-8 dubbed the LT5 that produced 375 horsepower. In the C6 generation, the ZR1 name again appeared, this time attached to a 6.2L supercharged all aluminum LS9 V8 making 638 horsepower. For the final generation of the classic front engine rear drive Corvette, General Motors and Chevrolet Motor Division pulled every trick from their performance playbook to produce a ZR1 with an astounding 755 horsepower and 715lb. ft. of torque. This made the C7 ZR1 the most powerful vehicle in GM's over 100-year history, and the most powerful production Corvette ever. The heart of the seventh generation ZR1 is the 6.2L LT5(a nod to the C4 generation ZR-1). The LT5 engine is an all-aluminum overhead valve successor of the LS9, with forged internals, a dual feed port and direct fuel injection system, and a whopping 2.6L Eaton supercharger. This new Eaton 2650 unit was 56 percent larger than the unit used on the Z06's LT4 engine. So big in fact that GM engineers had to open up a hole in the hood to get the unit to fit. This installation allowed for more boost as the supercharger was directly cooled from air passing over it, resolving an issue that plagues C7 Z06 models. Available for the first time in the history of the ZR1 was an automatic transmission option, the GM 8L90, or a seven-speed manual transmission. The cooling system and aero package on the C7 ZR1 is the culmination of racing technology transfer from the C7R race car. The front of the car has a front underwing that uses airflow under the car to provide down force at speed to the front axle, while out back a large rear wing (on ZTK package cars) is bolted to the rear frame of the vehicle and passes up through the body. Large grilles in the front fascia along with four extra radiators keep the thermals under control for extended lapping at the track on even the hottest summer days. Carbon fiber hood, roof, and fenders, along with splitters and rocker panels reduce weight for better handling at the limit. Power is nothing without control and too that end the Zr1 was given massive 15.5 in front and 15.3-inch rear vented Carbon Ceramic Brembo brakes with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-pistons in back. This acceleration and braking performance require a high-performance tire, and the ZR1 comes well equipped with sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (ZTK cars are Cup 2s), sized 285mm width in front, and a massive 335mm in the rear. This beautiful Sebring Orange C7 ZR1 cataloged here for sale is a super low mile, one owner, well optioned example of this final breed of ZR1 Corvette. Equipped with the 3ZR option package ($10,000), ZR1 Sebring Orange Design Package with orange stitching, seatbelts, and bronze trim ($6,995), and the extra cost 8-speed paddle shift automatic ($1,725), this ZR1 has over $20,000 in options alone. This ZR1 has been garaged since new in Florida and comes with all books, two keys, original floor mats, and has a clean Carfax.
