Here is a rare Shelby GT-H #55 of 500 limited production cars built by Shelby exclusively for the Hertz Corporation. Ready for a story? Once upon a time, just kidding, back in the 1960's the rental car company Hertz got a great idea which they gave up on before I got my drivers license, darn it. They commissioned Carrol Shelby to build them Shelby GT's and then they rented them! The public called them"rent-a-racers" Slap down a credit card with a valid driver's license, sign the contract and then have fun and drive for little to nothing all weekend and return it on Monday. Flash forward a couple of decades, ok 6 Decades and Ford/Hertz again teams with Shelby to make a rumored 500 on these beauties. Packing a little more horsepower due to the Ford Racing induction system than the factory GT the big difference is the black paint with gold stripes and of course the GT-H badging. If you are like me, you always wanted one of the 60's GT-H well here is your chance to own the modern equivalent. Options for this 2007 Ford Mustang GT-H include: 4.6L 3 valve OHC V-8 engine, 5 speed auto transmission, power black cloth conv top, interior Dark Charcoal leather grade package, 3:55 rear end gears, power pack x pipe exhaust, pony gas cap, upper grill insert, upper grill frame, fog lamps, handling package, A/C, Sirrus sat radio package with Shaker 500 AM/FM CD & MP3 player, calif emission package, Cruise control with tilt, Power steering, power 4 wheel disc brakes, power windows, power mirrors and power locks, Keyless entry, rear window defroster, Driver and passenger airbag and 18 inch aluminum wheels with radial tires. What began as a used car store in the 1970’s soon blossomed into one of the premier classic car dealerships in the country with a showroom boasting more than 25,000 square feet. During that time, celebrities, professional athletes, movie stars and prominent businessmen were highlighting the Duffy’s satisfied customer list. That company, founded on solid Midwest values and work ethic, would become the model for what all future classic and specialty car dealerships would emulate. The “new” Duffy’s is now home to more than 60 vehicles in the same glorious showroom that brought them prominence from the 1980’s through the early 21st century. A full service automotive and detailing department meticulously tends to each vehicle ensuring a fun, sound investment opportunity for its owner.
Turn the clock to today a resurgence of that historic Duffy’s brand. Classic Enterprises that became a descendant business, realized the value of the original Duffy’s recognition and reputation. When the old name became available we jumped on it. The name, the logo and the commitment to excellence have now been resurrected and have replaced the Classic Enterprises moniker. In addition, two of the “old school” members of the original Duffy’s management team are leading the company transition along with a full sales and service staff.
While the definition of a “classic” vehicle may have changed over the years that same,” Old School” Duffy’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has not.
