A level above a traditional two-seat roadster, Honda's S2000 was the company's first sports car and halo car. The seller purchased this S2000 in March 2020 and has added approximately 18,000 miles since.
Made in Honda's Takanezawa factory in April 2003, in Tochigi, Japan, this roadster is decked out in Grand Prix White (code NH-565), a desirable hue. It's one of 7,888 examples that were exported to the United States that year out of 11,088 cars worldwide. The droptop's paint and trim are in overall very good order but at close range, there are some minor blemishes visible. The contrasting aftermarket black power-folding vinyl top is in great shape, complete with glass rear window. The top has an internal cloth lining. The engine bay is clean and the rear cargo compartment is clean and deep while the body-colored bumpers fit tightly.
The S2000 was introduced for the 2000 model year; its model designation also references the engine's 2000 cc displacement. The car also boasted 50/50 weight distribution and independently-sprung, double-wishbone suspension at each corner.
This roadster rolls on mixed radials � Continental Extreme Control tires in front, size 205/55R16, and Advanta EX-700 tires in back, size 225/50R16. All of them are mounted to Sport Tuning six-spoke wheels. The wheels and tires are all in very good order.
Driver convenience features include: air-conditioning, cruise control, a digital instrument cluster, power rack-and-pinion steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, remote trunk release, maplights and pushbutton start. Safety equipment included: High-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, rear window defroster and integrated roll hoops. We have receipts in hand totaling over $5,000.00 for work preformed, most by Ed Napleton Honda.
Under the hood is Honda's 2.0L 16-valve, DOHC four-cylinder engine with VTEC and its per-liter output was the highest of any naturally aspirated regular-production car at that time. The compact and lightweight engine, mounted entirely behind the front axle, allow the S2000 to achieve a 50:50 front/rear weight distribution and lower rotational inertia. Backing this motor is a six-speed manual transmission and a 4.10:1 rear end with limited-slip differential. The S2000 achieved what Honda claimed as the highest specific output of a normally aspirated production automobile engine in the world. The most powerful version; the JDM F20C was rated at 247 horsepower or 123 horsepower per liter as a result of a 11.7:1 compression ratio. The attached Carfax history report shows that the following services have been performed:
� In October 2020 at 119,787 miles: engine valves adjusted, the brake fluid and coolant were flushed, the engine thermostat and spark plugs were replaced
� In May 2021 at 122,368 miles: a four-wheel alignment was performed
� In July 2022, the clutch, rear main seal, radiator fan and motor, and shifter bushing were replaced, the flywheel was resurfaced plus the engine oil and filter were changed
� In February 2023 at 135,324 miles: two tires were mounted and balanced
� In March 2023 at 135,352 miles: wheel lugs studs and nuts replaced
� In September 2024 at 136,037 miles: two front lug studs replaced and a four-wheel alignment performed
� In September 2024 at 136,075 miles: front wheel speed sensor, radiator, front brake calipers, pads and rotors replaced plus coolant flushed
The seller reports that the following services have been performed in preparation for the sale: tie-rod ends and front fender liners replaced. Modifications reported by the seller include:
� 16-inch Sport Tuning wheels with Megan Racing tie-rod ends
� K&N cold air intake
� HKS Hipermax coilover suspension
� Exedy Pro clutch kit
� Hardrace sway bar end links
� Aftermarket soft top with glass window
� Clear side marker lights

Inside, is a very cozy cockpit upholstered in black and tan. The black bucket seats look great, as does the contrasting carpeting and floormats (note the generous deadpedal on the driver's left floor). The car's dashboard got similar digital design to late 80s-early 90s McLaren-Honda Formula-1 racing cars as a reference to the racing pedigree of high rev line and output Honda engines. The dash is in very good order, as is the three-spoke steering wheel with its fat rim and satellite controls. The center console looks great with the gearshifter and handbrake while just ahead of the shifter is a JVC AM/FM stereo with CD player, Bluetooth and door to hide stereo from sight. The car's inner door panels, done in black and tan, look great.
Convertible competition to this Honda in 2003 included Acura's own NSX Targa, Audi's TT, BMW's Z4, Chevrolet's Corvette, Lexus' SC 430, Mercedes-Benz's SLK 320, Mitsubishi's Eclipse Spyder GTS, Nissan's 350ZX and Porsche's Boxster.
