*2001 BMW Z8*The late 1990s and early 2000s saw a resurgence of retro styling, with brands evoking cars of their earlier days. This was done with varying degrees of success but it should come as no surprise that BMW hit it out of the park. Penned by Henrik Fisker, the car debuted as the Z07 concept before going on sale, nearly unchanged, as the Z8. Harkening back to the ultra-rare and iconic BMW 507, the Z8 boasted a classic-yet-fresh roadster profile that has proven to be as iconic as its predecessor. The 2001 BMW Z8 on offer here is a U.S. spec example and shows just over 26k miles, and finished in the perfect color combination of Titanium Silver over a Red and Black Nappa leather interior.Delivered new at BMW of Tucson, AZ on 10/26/2001, this BMW was purchased through the company's CPO program by its 2nd owner 20 years ago at 18k miles. Although these are most frequently seen driving around with the top down, all Z8s were shipped with a removable hardtop and stand, which this car has, meaning that you can enjoy driving it year round. One thing about the Z8 that is particularly unique and rarely discussed is the lighting around the car. With HID headlamps up front, the side marker indicators -- which are set within a beautiful side grille -- are fiber optic, while the taillights are neon. The beautiful 5-spoke wheels are simple and tasteful in their design, and at 18-inches in diameter, finding modern tires is no issue. Many argue that the red and black two-tone interior offers the most visual impact - the colors in which the original concept was shown. The unique 3-spoke steering wheel is known as a banjo style thanks to the individual tines which make up each of the spokes. Sit in the driver's seat and you have an unobstructed view out the windshield, as the gauge cluster is positioned in the center of the dashboard. Grey painted trim adorns the dash, console, and door panels, creating a sporting and appropriate visual contrast with the red and black leather.Powering the Z8 is BMW's legendary S62 V8, also found in the E39 M5. The BMW Motorsport engine features 8 individual throttle bodies, dual overhead cams and double VANOS variable valve timing. What this means is 394 horsepower and 369lb-ft of torque, which is sent through a 6-speed Getrag gearbox to the rear wheels. This engine is famous for making the E39 M5 one of the all-time great sport sedans, so imagine how thrilling it is in a car that weighs more than 400 pounds less than the sedan. Acceleration is rapid with 0-60 happening in the low-4 second range, with a limited top speed of 155 mph. A thorough service just completed by our service center to prepare the car for sale, and the hardtop's typically loose headlining has been professionally repaired by our resident upholstery expert. It comes with its original owner's manuals, hardtop cover with stand, leather tool roll, and windstop. There are lots of cars that wish to be instant classics, but most fall short. If there is one car that can make that claim and back it up, it is the Z8. From the time these cars were new, they never really depreciated below their original MSRP and values have risen dramatically as time has progressed. Whether it be the car's stunning good looks, usability or its thrilling performance, there are lots of reasons to love the Z8, and this example would be an appropriate addition to any enthusiast's garage.*Key Features* * One Owner Since 2005 * Only two owners Since New * 26,211 Miles * 5.0-Liter S62 V8 * 394HP / 369lb-ft * 8-Individual Throttle Bodies * DOHC w/ VANOS * Getrag 6-Speed Manual Gearbox * Removable Hardtop * Hardtop Stand * Hardtop Cover * Heated Power Seats * Neon Tail Lights * HID Headlights w/ Washers * 18-Inch 5-Spoke Alloy Wheels*Additional Information* * Car Cover * Factory Tool Kit * Books and Manuals * BMW First Aid KitFor more information on this 2001 BMW Z8 or any of our 150+ High-Performance, Exotic, Luxury, and Special Interest Cars alw
