Immaculate: Perfectly clean, neat, or tidy; free from flaws or mistakes; perfectImmaculate is the only word that can accurately describe this stunning 1972 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400. The pictures just cannot do the paint justice. The color is radiant, almost fire like. It grabs your attention and smacks you in the face. This Firebird is a truly unique resto-custom of a real deal, super low production (estimated less than 300), PHS documented, 4-speed Firebird Formula 400. The body was stripped clean of the number 63 Anaconda Gold top to bottom and was refinished in a custom candy red fire metallic that is just as nice on the top as it is on the floorboards underneath. While most restorers would be content to spray a little undercoating in the wheel wells, you'll find no such corner cutting here. Even the wheels wells are fully painted and buffed to a high shine. The original wheels were replaced with new and absolutely gorgeous Pontiac Rally II wheels wrapped in white letter BFG's for that oh so period look. The original numbers matching 400 engine was torn down, sanded smooth, and refinished in a glossy gunmetal grey metallic. This theme was carried through the rest of the engine and engine compartment, with custom painted air cleaner, valve covers, oil pan, power steering pump, water pump, heater box, brake master cylinder, and even the power booster. Every chassis component underneath the car, the driveshaft, the rear axle, even the gas tank received this same attention to detail. Sanded smooth, painted, clear coated, and polished. The finish on the fuel tank is nicer than on most new cars. It is truly a shame you can't drive this car around upside down. Polished Magnaflow stainless exhaust, stainless fuel and brake lines went it, new brake cables, literally everything is new. You could eat a steak dinner off the bottom of this Formula, and lick the floor pans clean when you're done. The interior of this Firebird was also completely torn out and refinished. The factory covert beige(what a name) guts were replaced with beautiful black vinyl seats and matching accents. The woodgrain trim on the dash just screams 70's, and there are beautifully refinished white on black gauge faces and a clock built into the tachometer. Amenities include power steering, power disc brakes, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo, and the stares from onlookers as you cruise down the street are complimentary. The shift lever for the M20 Muncie gear box falls right to hand, and the acceleration picks up nicely thanks to the 3.42 gear set in the 10-bolt out back. The dual exhaust plays a smooth and powerful tone, classy but muscular, think John Cena in a three-piece suit. We have seen a number of early 70's F bodies through our doors, but I am confident to say that this Formula is easily the best finished and detailed we have ever seen. The attention to detail is truly astounding. Immaculate, that's the word.....Contact Brian at 352-307-1968 and park this fine Firebird in your garage tonight!
