Vehicle Description
1971 Chevrolet Corvette $59,995
Owning a Corvette is like being part of no other vehicle lineage. America's longest-running model, Chevy's halo car, is now in its eighth generation, and with each passing year, more of its previous seven iterations become more collectible. The C3, like this 1971 Chevrolet Corvette 454 Convertible we have for you, has slowly risen in the hearts and minds of collectors and enthusiasts over the last several years. Fully repainted in War Bonnet Yellow, complemented by its black manual convertible top, this numbers-matching big block is a real head-turner from any angle.
Inside, the Saddle leather interior envelopes you into a cockpit of gauges. The speedo and tach sit front and center while fuel, water temp, oil pressure, battery charge, and even an analog clock report all the pertinent information you might need from behind the wheel. An upgraded Bluetooth Alpine head unit makes listening to whatever soundtrack you'd like on the open road much easier.
However, you'd be hard-pressed to try and drown out the sound of that massive numbers-matching 454 cubic-inch V-8 sitting under this 'Vette's signature front-hinged hood. Upgraded with a Holley TBI electronic fuel injection system, this Vette does away with messing with those pesky Quadrajet carburetor adjustments. The stock LS5 big block from the factory made an advertised 365 hp and a ridiculous 465 lb-ft of torque. That power is funneled through a numbers-matching three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic auto transmission before being sent to its 3.08 geared Posi rear end.
After a full frame-off restoration some years ago, this car sports a clean-looking undercarriage, highlighted by the C3's four-wheel independent suspension. 1971 marks the last year before the United States adopted the SAE Net horsepower ratings and did away with the Gross numbers. While, in theory, the engines didn't change, it is still lovely to see those big-time numbers.
