1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 396 4-Speed, Correct Code 78 Black Cherry, Period-Correct 396 Big Block, Classic Muscle Presence If you are looking for a true American muscle car that checks the right boxes for performance, presentation, and unmistakable muscle car presence, this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle deserves a serious look. Finished in its correct and highly desirable Code 78 Black Cherry exterior with no vinyl top, this Chevelle carries the aggressive styling and commanding road presence that made the 1970 model year one of the most iconic muscle car years ever produced. Under the hood sits a suffix code IV period-correct 396 cubic inch Big Block V8 engine with a 440 Casting Number rated at 325 horsepower, upgraded with headers and aluminum intake which increased the horsepower higher than the 325 horsepower which is why previous owner had installed a 375 Horsepower sticker on the air cleaner. The car is equipped with a Auto Gear high-performance Muncie replacement 4-speed manual transmission. Power is transferred through a CCF 12-bolt Posi-Traction rear end, giving this car the performance pedigree enthusiasts look for in a true classic muscle machine. Inside, the car offers the quintessential muscle car interior with black bucket seats, center console, factory tach and gauge package, and a tilt steering column. A non-original AM/FM cassette radio has been installed for added cruising enjoyment while maintaining the vintage character of the cabin. This Chevelle is an older restoration that has clearly been well cared for and continues to present exceptionally well today. The correct Black Cherry paint has an excellent shine, the body presents nicely, and the overall fit and finish make this a standout example that shows extremely well. The car has the right stance, the right attitude, and the kind of curb appeal that instantly draws attention. Rolling on proper 14-inch SS wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, this Chevelle captures the classic muscle car look exactly as it should. All signs point to this car being a real Super Sport Chevelle. However, without a build sheet or the original born-with engine, we cannot guarantee it as an original factory Super Sport. We believe in full transparency and want prospective buyers to have accurate information when considering this exceptional muscle car. Past & Present Motor Cars was founded in June of 2018 by Jack and Jeff and began in 2 small warehouses in Ocala and Winter Garden, Florida. After seeing the business have steady growth in the first year and a half in March 2020 we moved our Main Location in Winter Garden to a new location that at the time seemed huge. We were a little nervous to take on this larger building and higher rent but we knew we had to THINK BIG. After getting moved in, that was the start of Covid. Just after getting settled in we put signs on the door saying we were only open by appointment. While it was a tough time in the world it actually was a good time to be in the car business especially the classic car business and we continued to see steady growth. After 2 1/2 years in that location we proceeded to acquire 4 buildings and lease a 5th building. This allowed for the operation we have today with 150+ Classic Cars and a Service Department. We are still doing the same thing we have done everyday since we opened, Great Customer Service, Owners that are Available and Accessible for our customers and very happy to talk cars anytime anywhere. We will never grow too big to be real with anyone! Keeping our commitment to our customers through straightforward business and ALWAYS doing the right thing! We are the same people with the same commitment as the day we opened and our slogan is and remains:
