"1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Wagon
- Pacific Northwest Wagon
- Two Tone Paint
- 350 V8 with 4 Speed Manual
- Air Conditioning
- Air Ride Suspension
- 4 Wheel Disc Brakes
- Clean Resto Mod Long Roof
This is just one of many amazing resto-mods we have availble here at Garage Kept Motors. This 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air is tastefully modified and fully functional as a great cruiser, as well as ready to show at your local cruise in or show as it is just a remarkable build.
This wagon project started out as a rust-free vehicle from the Pacific Northwest. The two-tone teal and green paint was carefully applied over well executed body work. A cowl induction hood was fabricated into the factory steel hood and the outside door handles have been shaved and smoothed to give this wagon a clean look. The paint was then polished to a deep luster. Bumper chrome and related body stainless trim have been either re-chromed or restored. There are few small blemishes and chips here and there that are expected of a car that has been driven but well cared for and it truly shows well.
The underbody and chassis are clean, and there appear to be no indications of any rust or collision repair. The chassis was completely disassembled and detailed when the vehicle was being painted and reassembled. It still presents well but with some typical wear from having being driven. The suspension has been upgraded with air ride suspension with the air tank and compressor skillfully installed and hidden in the rear compartment. Four-wheel power disc brakes have been added, and the brake lines and emergency brake cables were replaced. The steering has been upgraded to a power assisted rack and pinion set-up. The professionally fabricated exhaust system features an H-pipe with Flowmaster mufflers, and the tailpipes exit in front of the rear wheels NASCAR style. This combination rolls on custom 20"" diameter Corvette Rallye wheels with factory center caps wrapped in low profile radial tires.
The cabin has been aesthetically upgraded as well with many custom accoutrements. The door panels feature custom tuck and roll style vinyl upholstery that incorporates custom door speakers. The seats have been custom upholstered to a matching pattern and colors to the doors in similar grey and white vinyl material. Hard metal trim is color matched to the exterior body colors. The rear compartment continues the design theme with sub-woofer speakers incorporated into the side panels that also house and hide the stereo amplifiers. A full set of AutoMeter gauges have been skillfully fabricated into the dash along with a custom mount for the Alpine AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo and air ride controls. The custom climate control features A/C and heat with the outlets built into the floor and under the dash. An OEM SS vintage factory console sits between the seat framing the 4-speed Hurst shifter. A foam wrapped 3 spoke billet steering wheel caps the tilt steering column with billet levers.
Under the hood presents as clean and well detailed. The 350 small block presents as stock with era correct for this car front oil fill manifold topped by a Carter 4-barrel carburetor that has been updated with an electric choke. The ignition is a stock points style unit upgraded with electronic ignition and the burned air/fuel mixture is passed through a set exhaust headers. Keeping this engine cooled on a warm day is an aluminum radiator with custom electric fan shroud. Chrome valve covers and a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner with reusable filter, aluminum thermostat housing, chrome air alternator and billet pulleys add some show bling to this well-maintained engine compartment. The power is transferred back through a 4-speed transmission to a 10-bolt rear differential.
This wagon shows very well and is amazing to drive. These wagons were originally built so families could load up and hit the interstate highways and ""See the USA in their Chevrolet"". The upgrades made to this resto-mod wagon make this car highly capable to continue that mission today reliably and in comfort. This cool cruiser will look great rolling into your local cars and coffee, local show or even dropping off the kids in the carpool line or soccer practice! Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.

For our buyers, our vehicles are listed on the Internet, with over 100 photos, including undercarriage pictures, and walk-around videos of the vehicles running plus a narrative-style write-up of the cars history and features. Our international exposure allows us to sell cars across the globe, and we sell a majority of them out of state and overseas. We deliver honesty and consistency in our photos and descriptions, a “no surprise” approach, so buyers, both near and far, can invest with confidence sight unseen. We are not a gallery.
