This 55 is loaded! Everything from dual spotlights and a continental kit to power steering and brakes. It has all the accessory trim they offered. A mini me version of itself is even included. It was body off frame restored about 20 years ago. It has been driven 7,300 miles and been very well cared for since.
EXTERIOR: It's been painted at least 20 years and the body has held up really well. It's straight and clean with no rust or damage. Painted the signature Gypsy Red and Shoreline Beige colors. It's very smooth and glossy. It looks awesome when you walk up to it, if you inspect closely, you'll find some minor imperfections. Overall, the chrome and trim look great and there's plenty of it! It has optional bumper guards, wing tips on the bumpers, side moldings, rocker moldings, stone shields, door handle guards and fuel door trim. It also has painted metal fender skirts and a continental kit on back. The dual spotlights with mirrors are really cool too. The reverse lights were optional, and they work. It rolls on painted rims with correct hubcaps and Firestone white wall tires. It's a white power top in nice shape.
INTERIOR: Also restored 20 years ago back to factory condition and it still looks great. All the metal trim is painted Gypsy red, smooth and glossy. It has the automatic headlight dimmer on the dash along with a viewfinder to see the stoplights. Chrome and trim across the dash looks really nice. Other features include a wonder bar radio, a tissue dispenser, reproduction mats and clock. The seat cushions are nice and firm, the upholstery fits really nice without wrinkles. They've added seat belts front and back.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a date correct 265 V8 built to power pack specs including a correct 4 barrel carb. All stock manifolds, Chevrolet script valve covers, air cleaner, cloth wrapped choke tube etc. Factory options include correct power steering and brakes, an oil filter, upgraded electric wipers and windshield washers. It was upgraded with an electric fan too. Overall, it's clean and painted neatly. It has a Delco battery topper with a disconnect switch.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The continental kit easily swings out of the way. Under the trunk lid and the compartment is clean metal painted white. It has a reproduction mat and weather strip. It also has a white wall spare with a painted rim and jack assembly. It includes a car cover and some shop manuals.
UNDERSIDE: It was completely restored several years ago. There are some items that look fresh including the four shocks, power steering hoses, front brake hoses and fuel tank. We inspected the car and replaced the lower control arm bushings, a rear bearing and gave it an alignment. It's a new dual exhaust system with glasspack mufflers and the correct stainless tips. Rust free all metal floors, braces and rockers.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and adjusted the reverse light switch, repaired the turn signals, tightened the visors, replaced the lower control arm bushings gave it a front end alignment, replaced passenger window and track, replaced rear axle bearing.
Here is a classic 55 Chevrolet Bel Air in the signature colors and it is loaded like a Chili's baked potato!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
