1951 Packard 200 Special History of the car: My father Cliff Steele bought it more or less as a junk car and worked on it for 5 years to get it to the state you will see in the photos. He was a mechanic in his working life and continued on in retirement to work on cars and restore them. He took all the paint off the body, did a complete body repair, removing bumps and scratches, grinning and finally had it painted professionally. He researched the original colors of this model and chose the Packard Aqua Blue. He also researched what the interior of the original looked like and had it redone; upholstered, seats recovered, new headliner, new floor mats etc. He did not alter the engine, he repaired it and got it up and running ( it was entered into many car shows). He replaced some hoses and parts but essentially the motor is original; as is the transmission. All working parts on the engine and transmission are original. What's wrong with the car: the transmission has an oil leak, the engine needs a tune up currently running rough, one of the arm rests in the back is currently off the door. The Packard runs and is in pretty good nick. The car is registered with BC Collector Plates which means it meets restored to original standards. What's new on the Packard: It has a new 6 volt battery, Brakes have a new master cylinder and the wheel cylinders have been replaced. What's special about this Packard 200 Special: it has been lovingly restored, the body and paint are excellent. The upholstery has been done in the original shade of grey, lots of chrome in excellent shape, no bumps, white wall tires. Stats: 1951 Packard Condition: excellent Cylinders: straight eight Odometer: 75,192 miles Paint: Aqua Blue Size: full size Title Status: rebuilt Transmission: automatic Type: sedan This is a big beautiful car which will bring joy and smiles to your face!
