Our Detroit Showroom is proud to offer a very high quality 1941 Willys Coupe. This Willys is powered by a 496 Power house Stroker V8, with highrise tunnel ram manifold and 2 Edelbrock 650cfm carburetors to ensure no power is wasted. This powerplant is paired to a Turbo400 transmission which hands off power to the Ford 9" Posi-Traction rear end with shortened Moser axle shafts and is translated to the pavement via the rear Centerline wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson Sportsmans. This Willys is sitting on a Dennis Taylor chassis and will surely stay cool thanks to an excellent cooling system including 2 11" cooling fans for the engine, electric transmission cooler, and a BeCool radiator. The suspension of this Willys consists of a Mustang II front suspension, four link rear suspension, and Aldan coil-over shocks. The gray and black cloth interior allow you to enjoy this beast comfortably when open road cruising. The interior provides some great modern pieces such as autometer gauges, custom machined trim pieces, and an easy pull to start system. Our Detroit Showroom opened its doors in June of 2013 and is the fourth addition to Gateway Classic Cars. Detroit has been dubbed as the "Motor City Capital of the World" and has earned that title by being home base for American automobile manufacturers such as General Motors, Ford Motor Company and Dodge/Chrysler. Detroit is also home to the largest automotive gathering in the world, The Woodward Dream Cruise which is hosted annually on the 3rd weekend of August.
Our Detroit Showroom is located in historic "Ford Country" just footsteps from the Ford Motor Company World Headquarters building and a short drive to the General Motors World Headquarters located in the Renaissance Building in Downtown Detroit. Henry Ford once roamed these streets with Model T's, the Dodge brothers raced their way around city roads and extinct companies like Oldsmobile and Pontiac have left us fossils reminding us of the greatest era in automotive history, the muscle car era.
